Amazing Video! Intro was funny and I thought the part where you received 4.00 for talking about does! Nvidia is a scummy company and the only reason why they are still around is because they have not had a lot of good competition in graphics cards for too many years.
I have bought a lot of Nvidia cards and And cards in the past and videos has ALWAYS had scummy business practices. Anyone else remember the 5000 series they released in the late 90's/early 2000's? Going back many years but they've been doing this and other scummy things for years.
Glad you are big enough to call them out on their BS!
Cheers

The one shot that didn't have DLSS on was so painfully obvious. 2060 Super 1080p here. DLSS made my game a blurry and aliased mess. If you go to the stash in the apartment and point the camera at the far left corner you will easily see the annoying aliasing happening on the top edges of the foam mold, the lamp and katanas if you have any slotted, just from the character breathing. It drove me crazy. The game looks better with RT and DLSS off and with some key settings turned down to maintain FPS. My experience so far is that these features are a scam.

I did something different with your comparison. Instead of trying to guess which one was DLSS I chose which one I preferred as far as appearance. I chose C and I guess I am not surprised. In the case of DLSS, instead of image manipulation, I prefer the better idea of just crank up the raw power of the card. If they chose to spend on developing that instead of trying to trick the eyes they would win . As it is, it looks like AMD could topple them if they continue their apparent business model.

Great video. 16:16
Exactly what I've experienced in Control .And some people not getting it for some reason...
The kind of ghosting I've never seen before and that gives me nausea if played at low fps... I used to be able to play games at 10 fps 20 years ago (Gothic 1) . But with new rendering techniques ,for the first time in my life ,DLSS and RTX makes games physically unplayable for me at low fps due to haloing and ghosting effects... Need at least 60 now , to not get nausea.

So now I'm wondering - AMD gives more general bang per buck (CPU's) but DLSS seems to give more bang per CPU ability so is it better to go AMD and native 4k or similarly priced but next rung down Intel and DLSS with a Nvidia card?
My thinking would be DLSS and a cheaper CPU if its not bottlnecking but is that correct?
Of course thats presuming you can actually buy any of them and presuming they get their morals out of the gutter.

if you get a chance look into the screen space reflections settings i have a 2080ti FE on a 4k monitor, and when moving the SSR makes the game look GRAINY as HELL, i though DLSS was causing it but playing on my old rig with a Titan X (pascal) proved it wasn't. It looks worse the lower you go, but even on psycho as soon as you start driving the image quality goes to hell , but it looks okay when you are sitting still.

I think with things like DLSS, you really need the comparison to be done with motion, not a still screenshot, since when we play the game, we are doing it with motion.
When it came to comparison, I thought C) No DLSS was the sharpest, but though both B) Balanced and C) Quality looked good and made edges look better, but ruined the textures.
Turns out my eyes didn't deceive me.

Here are my notes from the blind section, before being told what's what:
A: Way too soft, worst option
B: It's fine? Nothing really stands out.
C: Too sharp, needs some AA.
D: Best quality, I would like to run at this setting.
E: Also fine? Whatever settings B and E use seem like filler between highest and lowest, I'd have a hard time picking a preference between them.

So is DLSS just Nvidias fudge to make up for lack of gpu horsepower? or do they just figure they can get away making smaller/less powerful GPU because DLSS makes up for it? Maybe using DLSS frees up more processing for the RT features. Personally I d almost prefer the upscaling to be separate silicon like Sony did with checkerboarding, leaving gpu to do actualy gpu work.

Well Linus was serious, Jay was annoyed and now Steve just sh4t on them from a great height with comedy.
I wonder if they will get the message?
There was me thinking Steve was going to partner up with Lian Li (they seem to have improved a strangely large ammount over the last few months) to make a case and instead here he is taking anyone's money. Shameless. ;)
