This is the Complete Cyberpunk 2077 Graphics & Optimization Guide, ft. side-by-side graphics quality comparisons, benchmarks, and research on the game's settings, along with tuning advice. This was a nearly insurmountable amount of work that required the entire team's involvement. Patrick and Andrew worked side-by-side for a week on just running tests and collecting visual comparisons, Keegan spent hours combing through footage and editing it, and Steve worked on the editorial and testing components of the piece. If you'd like to help support this type of content, please consider supporting us on Patreon or grabbing one of our items on the GN store. This content will break-down the most intensive graphics settings in Cyberpunk 2077, the biggest FPS gains you can get from tuning settings, and the biggest visual quality changes from those settings. Graphics options we'll be defining are as below. There were a few options that didn't make the final cut for this guide due to length, but we tested every single setting in the game. Items not present were ruled to have little impact to performance or, in some cases, were actually not working yet. LOD settings, for instance, had very little impact on the whole, and the distance at which LOD levels changed was constant across all settings. Sub-surface scatter quality also had almost no difference. We looked at hands, ears, veins, and faces to try and find sub-surface scattering differences, and they were so small that it wasn't worth spending time to include. Facial lighting geometry was one we couldn't find any differences for. CDPR says it's in there and working, but we couldn't find any evidence of that after testing for a few hours. These were omitted for those reasons. The graphics options and settings covered include:

Not all hardware.
3950x auto settings
32GB 3200 CL14
RTX2070 Gigabyte Windforce (two fans)
Gigabyte GA-AB350-GAMING 3
The game is on a WD Blue 3D nand SSD. All on air and all stock. Maxed out Runs just fine. DLSS is on quality because why the hell not, but runs just fine with it off. Other than bugs of course. I don't know the frames cus I don't care. FR never dips at least not far enough that I notice it. Plays smooth (again other than bugs). Granted I'm 1080p because I refuse to buy a new tv when mine works just fine. Plus I can't afford a new one thanks to the human malware. Anyway Steve said all hardware, and well, I disagree and that's what I am running.
On a side note, I have noticed the game still ignores logical cores and only uses Physical cores, at least as windows task manager reports.
P.s. As of writing this I haven't watched the whole video yet, but I will also not come back and change this. I said what I said.

and then there is me . sitting on a 5800x/rtx3080/32gb-3200mhzC14 getting not much more fps than the numbers show'n wich was benchmarked with a 3060ti :(
i have no clue what is going on . no matter what settings i do i get the same fps but with different percentages on GPU utilisation.
that means i would be CPU-bound . wich makes no sence sitting on a custom watercooled 5800x - it is somewhat of a nightmare
Edit: playing on 1440p high settings with RT ( but turning RT off does not change performance)

On 1080p SSR lower than Psycho has visual artifacts(noise, grain and flickering) which is no go for me, the only options are: set ssr to psycho or having it on low-medium and setting resolution scale(look for mod) to 130-140. Turning ssr to psycho kills framerate on my 1070.
I managed to stabilize my frame times and boost fps a bit by turning off async options on .exe and some extra features.

Hey,i have a r5 3600x ,rtx 3070 system. And in cyberpunk it seems like you gradualy start loosing fps and game becomes ghostier (not sure if its a word, but it starts to ghost more when you have dlss on quality) and all that happens after like 2 hours of gameplay.I know you guys probably never ran the game for more then 2 hours but im asking if you saw this behaviour.

So 3060 Ti have better performance than GTX 1080TI...... Never EVER gonna buy from Nvidia. I bought expensive card for future,, taht said, ita aged in just 3 years! Top Pascal model aged in just 3 years, and slowest Ampere is killing it. Perf/ is 0, ZERO. Next card will be for sure AMD or even Xbox Series X.

It would be cool to put all this experience into specific target GPU setting recommendations. For example if you run a 3080 and a 5900X run these optimized settings. If you have a 10400 and a 3060Ti do that. If you have a 3600 and a 2060 super do that. Etc

I have a 2080ti and play on a 1440p / 144hz monitor. What I find very annoying is that sometimes I have over 100 fps in this game and then it drops to below 60 fps in some areas. I hate this. Can it be fixed somehow? The difference is just too high.

I redownloaded the game just to check how these tweaks improve the performance when combined together, and they do work quite well, but nothing will ever fix the fact that the gameplay loop itself is too boring to actually play the game >.>

I have 16GB of VRAM and turned down texture quality a little to never drop below 60FPS... Guess I can bump that up again, and it was some of the other settings I changed along the way that helped with that

Will I be cpu bound on 4k dlss performance? I mean I'm always 80% usage gpu when I'm in town. and out of town I can pull 100% usage. I think that's 4k dlss performance 1080p internal resolution trick?
