Hardware news is back. CDPR is facing Cyberpunk 2077 Class Action complaints, Intel is getting 'encouragement' to split fabrication and design, Playstation 5 moves 3.4 million, and more. Marc: In the 80's Intel nearly went bust from competition from Japan who had 93% of the DRAM semiconductor market and IBM had to bail them out.
The FBI ran a fishing operation to bring down the Japanese semiconductor market. This is exposed in detail in the book The American TRAP by FREDERIC PIERUCCI
Written by one of the Alstom director after he was released from US jail, His battle to expose America's secret economic war against the rest of the world.

If Intel uses 3rd party fabs to prevent getting left behind & stopping America having problems accessing tech due to geopolitical unstable asia if they use TSMC & others what locations do they think these fabs are? Yes I know they say about spinning off Intel fabs to become a 3rd party. What evidence do they have that Intel fabs will start having tech breakthroughs because they're owned by yet another set of shareholders? Sounds to me like BS & an excuse to spin up another company for someone to make a load of cash

i think it would be the biggest mistake for intel to spin off its fabs. they currently produce roughly 300M products that require their manufacturing process.. tsmc produces about 1B, and are running at capacity due to all the phone chips, apple and amd. intels 10nm is slightly better than tsmc's 7nm+ node packing in over 100m transistors per mm 2 compared to 91m per mm 2 of tsmc. the 7nm vs 10nm is kind of a misnomer because intel and tsmc measure their nodes differently.

>Great list for recommendations
>At the top of one of the categories is FIFA 2021 and NBA 2K20, games so laden with gambling boxes that it makes EA's Battlefront II look completely sensible.
>Near the top is Cyberpunk 2077, a visually impressive game that is buggier than a Bethesda game, has lackluster shooting, and a middling story.
Maybe....don't presume that something is selling a bunch means it is worth buying.

So lawyers are saying cyberpunk doesnt run on current gen hardware, but it does. The issue is 7 year old tech trying to keep up with current gen tech. I cant sue samsung bc my 3 year old phone wont update netflix anymore. Or bc i have to use other older apps that are compatible. Why is anyone surprised?? The lawyers cant even phrase the issue correctly, how do they expect to litigate.

The Class Action suits seems hard to prove to be honest. Things like virtually unplayable rolls in forum circlejerks but is much harder in a court of law. The biggest piece of evidence they have is probably the actions of Sony, but I could see competent lawyers fighting that off easily too. It's really difficult to see them proving their statements as materially false.

Do....be careful with the regular we don't make comments on political statements comments. There is no such thing as an apolitical message and even the perception of neutrality can be, as the kids say, a bad look. With both, those that disagree with you thinking you have the opposite stance and those that agree with you thinking you thinking you oppose them.

Can't wait for USB 4 Gen 3x2 Thunderbird 4 40 Gb/s devices to hit the market. Don't confuse it with regular USB 4 though, which only needs to support Gen 2, so 10 Gb/s. Or with USB 4 Thunderbolt 3, which Apple uses on their new M1 devices, which supports only 10 Gb/s through the USB 4 protocol, but 40 Gb/s through the Thunderbolt 3 protocol, using the same slot/plug.

Epic games made my laptop with an intel cpu run 12-15 degrees hotter whenever it was on for 2 years now, steam in comparison has almost no impact on my cpu temps while having so many more features. I got 170 free games over 2 years on epic so I'm not complaining, they can mine whatever they want for the 30 seconds once a week that I open the app lol

Great, so now Nvidia is wasting even more manufacturing time and silicon on a 5th line of gpu's when it can't even keep the ones in stock that they launched last month, or even the original 3000 series launch almost 4 months ago. By the time I'm able to get a 3070 for MSRP they're going to be launching the 4000 series.
