Thank you very much for this review. Finally a good case in 2021! So essentially, this case is the most performant in all categories really. Especially noise normalized. Which is very interesting to me, I have an O11 at the moment and it gets loud under heavy load (yeah, no shit) and even under (mostly) idle at nights (though obviously that skews my perception of noise). But what I am curious about is if one could have a reasonably priced, as cool as possible at as low as possible setup based around this case. Or, do you think there would be other cases more better suited for this? (e.g. with better radiator options) Is it even possible to have the best of both world at a reasonable price or does it have to into the territory if 300+ USD parts/kits?

Fractal almost figured it out. Well they did, but then lost the plot somewhere along the way. They have separate brackets specifically for their 180mm front fans for full clearance. And yet the bottom 140mm fans are spinning extremely close to cutouts made for 120mm fans. Making them much louder, and less efficient. They were so close to making a case I would buy without regrets, they even have a solid side panel option...I guess replacing the bottom fans with 120mm might be an option, but then why pay for the extra fans in the first place.

The closed top is actually a big plus for me. I couldn't stop my cats sitting over the top mounted radiator in my old Thermaltake Level10 case, so ended up moving to NZXT 710 cases. Those 140mm fan spots, are they size restricted by those brackets, or can they fit the Noctua NF-P14r redux (the ones which for 140mm screw holes, but stick out an extra half cm on all sides)?

Steve Reviewed the Lian Lancool 215 earlier this year, and then I bought it like 1 weeks ago, I had the NXZT h510 Elite and my new 3080 was getting wayyyy to hot like 80c My 2070s Fe was doing ok in my H510, Switch to Lancool 215 temps are now in the 65-67c range with my 3080 Rog Strix.. Thx for your indepth Reviews Steve...Plus i loved that my 280m AIO fit up top...

this case is a complete 180 (no pun intended) from the Era ITX released a while back. that thing was literally a tiny hotbox with an awful parts layout and basically zero airflow compared to the breathable flow and well thought out layout of the Torrent. this will be the case that moves me away from my shoebox-sized ITX build for sure.

Seems like an amazing case, but I feel like most people still aren't gonna pay 200 for one. IMO it only makes sense if you spend more than 2k on your PC, which is mostly just our narrow demographic of tech enthusiasts. Even my relatively nice PC (3700X, RX 5700, X570, 1 TB NVMe, 16 GB 3600 MHz CL17, RL06) was only 1300'ish.

Fractal has made a customer for life out of me, their cases always feel well thought out and perform competitively on all the cooling benchmarks; not to mention their quality and innovative featuress. I'm on my fourth Fractal case and I will certainly getting this case for a new build!

I'm skeptical when I hear you say something is good, because you also claim AMD is the best and totally kills Intel. And even your reviewer sample is worse than my consumer 1 year old from the shelf (and 3-4 years old now) 8700k which can OC without voltage changes to 5.1 stable on 2 cores.

Thank you for the review! When products are not as good as they should I want to know, because I want to avoid them. When the products are great I'm even more interested! I want to buy those great products. Mets hope fractal makes a torrent based mid atx. Keep up the good work!

I bet that positive pressure updraft air pattern is more beneficial to GPUs with a side-side fin pattern, vs the front-back fin pattern of the test setups GPU.
that front-back exhaust setup likely favors negative pressure.
id love to see some testing on that.
