If you've wondered what we do with all our extra hardware, this is it! We bring it to be refurbished into new computers, classrooms, and more. Special CHARITY AUCTION link below. bert: those ebay prices are kind of ridiculous, to be honest. 274 bucks for a fourth gen i5? cmon. here, in germany, you can get a whole system, with a 128gb ssd, 16gb ram and this processor in it, for 160 euros or so. anyway. i like the idea of stuff getting used, till it is broken.

My dad used to work for Hughes Aircraft (now raytheon) back in the 80's and early 90's in California. I went to school in El Segundo for a few years. The whole school district was donated computers from Hughes. Some of them looked strange. I remember one that had i think a 8 inch green monitor. It ran a custom OS. But it had a word processor so thats what they used them for. Now i live in the middle o nowhere. No recycling places that i know of.

recycling, fine but if anyone thinks for a second that anyone in American needs a computer these days, you are delusional. It's just more people exploiting the welfare system to try to get crap free or too cheap. Organizations like his really have no reason to exist other than recycling. If a kid shows up saying he can't afford a computer. Look at his moms new 100 nails, and their new 50K car and wonder why.

I get why you would want to get rid of the packaging (I can think of like 4 solid reasons), but it would really improve your storage options if you keep the original boxes as then you could stack cases 2-3 high and you'd generally be able to move stuff around much more easily.
Seems like it would be worth the small inconvenience of unboxing it when you go to reuse them.

You guys are doing good and vital work towards many adults and children in need, so they have a way to acquire a computer and knowledge behind it. This gives them the necessary tools to better themselves in this now tech dependent world . Wishing for more successes for GN for years to come! Hopefully, Gigabyte are good sports and haven't blacklisted you though.

It's so nice to see Kramden mentioned. I've volunteered with them several times over the years, and it's always amazing to see how much they do. I haven't had a chance to see the new place in person yet, but it looks nice. Keep up the great work with charities!

Good cause and cleaning is a great idea. I hope this can lead to other people doing the same. I did last month, giving away and recycling for a friend a complete pc for common use. Another friend gave me a laptop. Merry Christmas Steve and GN team
