I have no choice but to wait..can't justify spending hard earned money for overinflated prices. I just hope my gtx 970 grandpa edition card doesn't die in the next 2-3 yrs..likely it will though..then I am out of gaming. Already pretty much have made that choice..when this card goes..I'm very likely done. No more money into a hobby I no longer feel joy at. I'll spend my money on a bag of coke..it's cheaper and you still have a blast...(jk). Idk, I'm still hoping prices will get better, just not holding my breath. And you know, one other thing..I don't even feel like upgrading my build at all I feel there's no point if you can't upgrade hardware equally to the same level..I did , however, put a funny sticker on my case..that has been my upgrade for this year it seem's, lol.

I do want to upgrade my GTX 1060, but on the other hand I am still satisfied with it, bacause it was 156 USD 1.5 years ago used. At the time I had a 1050 Ti, sold it for 100 USD, it was a great deal for me. I even found an RX 480 4GB reference card for 110 USD back then, replaced one of my friends R7 250 or some sort of the perf. range card. Adjusted the fan curve, and it is still enough for the person for RD2. Now the RTX 2060 costs 690 USD in Hungary (27% VAT), curious to see the prices when the 3050 is going to be available here. The RTX 3060 is around 878 USD cheapest, so...

I think EVGA's oopsie worked for the best.
The whole appeal of setting an attractive base-MSRP is to make it look good and nothing more since those base-MSRP cards will be dropped three-months in.
Also, much like the others, I'm really glad to know that my nearly 6-year-old card is only 10% slower.

I love my 980 ti which I bought at launch, but I am missing freesync and DLSS. As you point out though, you either spend hundreds to get the same level or raw performance, or far more than I paid for what was close enough to the fastest gaming GPU at the time for something selling for twice its RRP.

Gpu reviews have been nearly a complete waste of effort as customers have been buying anything they can get their hands on. Even the complete garbage 6500xt sold out and in a normal market nobody would have bought the 6500xt at any price. AMD should be ashamed that the AMD logo is on that POS.

Gaming going to end up on Xbox and PlayStation console's only at the rate they keep rising the gou price. Maybe once eth mining done we won't need to worry and can see prices fall. People can't afford these prices as it is and yet there wages have not gone up.

Glad i got my 2060 laptop in early 2020 before all of this madness began, i was thinking of getting a low end pc and get a 3000 series gpu later that year, but then i thought i need a machine now, so i got a 2060 laptop at neaarly half price. I'm glad i did that.

Is the XC actually a different card in terms of hardware, or is the difference literally just a VBIOS.
Wouldn't be the first time replacing it with one for a higher product has seen gains.
Any chance of an analysis of both by you, and or Buildzoid to compare.

Pathetic we're just getting cards now that are only on par with cards from SIX YEARS AGO.
I remember when technology was suppose to advance and be exciting instead of just stagnating or even declining...I'm not even mad anymore, I'm just disappointed...

What's funny is when I snagged an rx590 in July of 2020, I whined to myself because I wish I had the extra money to go with a 2060, now in hindsight it turns out I snagged a good card. With a little tweaking it still performs fantastic and stays quite cool.
