I think that dropping support for 32-bit, early, is a good move. Maybe Ubuntu team was too heavy-handed, but hopefully they are helping to push the issue. I hope that many will drop support for 32-bit earlier rather than later. At first it will feel forced, but the pain will subside. Let's be honest, it is forced! It will be forced. It is inevitable. 32-bit will no longer be supported after the year 2038 due to the Unix time rollover which will occur during that year. And even before 2038, the closer we get to that date, the more often software will have difficulties representing dates/events too far in the future. Get it over with earlier rather than later. Dropping support at the operating system level seems extreme, but it is good in that it forces all of the libraries/packages/software dependencies to be updated or replaced. And, ultimately, that is what we need: total replacement of 32-bit applications. Part of Intel's secret sause is that a crapton of comercial and business software is compiled by Intels own compiler, which is extremely optimized for Intel chips. If this and most software was available compiled with the same level of optimization for AMD, AMD would likely have a 10-20% IPC lead on Intel, even with the previous Ryzen generation. You notice this best when using Linux distro's like Gentoo where you by default compile every application at install instead of just downloading a precompiled package. Even Bulldozer was far less bad running Linux than anything from Intel, especially considering Multithreading in Linux is in far better shape than it is in Windows.

Yes. Intel is screwed! Their arrogance and complacency have come back to bit them in the butt! With all their lies, tricks, games and low down tactics, they have lost all trust and credibility with me, and I bet others as well. They have been anti-customer locking cores, and other things forcing people to have to buy new motherboards every upgrade and flat out lies, and even at one point paying off manufacturers not to use AMD chips in their computers which should have been Illegal. and even variability cover-ups and price jacking all of it! And even more low down things too numerous to list here. I WILL NOT BE BUYING INTEL PRODUCTS. Simple as that!

Science!
I suppose with more companies getting involved with Monitors, the more they compete. Cooler Master is offering NOTHING innovative though, you can get a good 100 Hz Adaptive sync 3440x1440 VA panel for 420 from MSI, that's 42% the price. and skip out on FAKE HDR and 20 Hz. The 2560x1080 panel at least isn't overpriced, relatively speaking. What we REALLY need is true innovation. HDR600/HDR1000 and Freesync without breaking the bank (it's not cutting edge technology(SEE: TV's. Properly sized 4K gaming panels that can do 120 Hz (40 -43. Adaptive back light strobing. Micro LEDs. Quantum filters with decent sRGB modes. Properly calibrated panels.

The bully is feeling the PUNCHES. Intel has screwed over AMD for years, which means the consumers suffered, even when AMD had competitive products, Intel engaged in illegal and unethical practices, eg. they paid dell and hp billions not to use AMD products. AMD was first to give us 64bit computing, Intel had to buy the license to add support to their CPU's. AMD R&D must have suffered due to lack of funds. Where would the computer-world be if AMD was allowed to grow in a fair market? Intel has been always afraid of fair competition and has held back innovation because of their greed.

ive noticed something though over the last few years, theres something wrong with amd fan boys. AMD fan boys like to blow completely out of proportion whatever amd's latest product is, act like its some major innovation, and act like intel used to come home drunk and beat them when they were children and somehow this next amd product is going to just change everything. lol Realty is cpu architecture is identical to intel. both are outdated tech. neither are the future. and I just feel like I need some popcorn while everyone makes an ass out of themselves

Let's just touch on what you Youtubers like to hammer down on like lets say Security. We go to the so called Security Experts which took them to recent history to identify issues which have been around since Sandy Bridge. This seemly open the flood gates for other so called Security Expert to flood the market with more BS. With the AMD Ryzen being relative new it has been immune to most security issues. My thoughts are that AMD partnered with a Chinese company for X86 technology so how long before those same Security Experts find issues with AMD.

Have you caught the answer from Collins in response to AMDs prices? Additionally, some software is licensed per core and therefore more cores from the AMD solution results in higher licensing costs. Thats so bizzare that I cant even wrap my head around it. They even admit, that AMD might leapfrog them in single threaded applications soon, which means AMD can easily provide customers with more threads in LESS machines, cutting on maintenance, energy etc. and keeping costs per core at net 0 difference.

As ubuntu user, I say 32bit ubuntu doesn't survive, however you can run 32bit closed source games. 32bit ubuntu was something that came with 32bit firefox, 32bit office etc. It sounds like they are going to gut everything 32bit that isn't required by wine and steam, while telling both that they should plan to integrate the required libraries within 15 months. (And if they cannot canonical will be sad and will have to backdown in their plans again)
