AMD has announced price cuts to its upcoming Navi RX 5700 and 5700 XT GPUs, thanks to Super, and files patents for ray tracing and 3D memory tech. Ad: Buy EVGA's GTX 1660 XC Ultra on Amazon or SC Ultra Show notes: Buy a GN toolkit here: Aside from the AMD GPU price changes, major topics for the day include a brief glimpse into our Ryzen 3000 & Navi review process, moving on quickly to news topics for the week. A power outage in Japan saw the suspension of NAND production and loss of significant quantities of silicon product, affecting Western Digital and Toshiba. AMD, meanwhile, filed for ray tracing technology patents and Peltier cooling patents relating to 3D memory stacking. In other news, game consoles will dodge increased prices caused by tariffs, Samsung might manufacture NVIDIA's 7nm GPUs, and PCIe 4. 0 SSDs are starting to appear. Oh, and finally, Silicon Lottery will be binning AMD Ryzen 7 3800X and Ryzen 9 3900X CPUs for higher overclocks.

Hey Steve Got an idea, knowing you are the tech guy who likes testing alot. If you get the time could you look into thermal dissipation using different metals, you dd a video on copper Vs aluminum a while ago But I'm thinking of pushing it way farther than that, looking at specific heat capacities of different metals(by the way this is inversely proportional to heat change or dissipation) So one of the metals with the highest SHC are gold, copper, tin But don't just think about the cold plate also think about the fin stack in the radiator what if it was copper or better yet made of tin and going abit crazy here but imagine running mercury in ur loop instead of water(dangerous but it for the PC master race) Could you imagine the thermal performance, the only that could hold you back is the air Anyways these are all ideas haven't seen anyone talk about this so what to bring it up, i don't know if you can even find radiators made of copper or tin or if that's even possible to make, but I leave this brain child of mine to you

so the 5700XT beats the 2060 super by around 10% and cost the same and beats even the RTX 2070. This is amd on the defensive? Dig up my comment from when you did the AMD E3 reveal and like i stated then, this never felt like the real price to me and that 50 cheaper was the hot mark. Even when he mentioned the price, you could see how nervous he was when stating that price, something was going on. AMD Made him lie and he was nervous and uncomfortable in doing so. Just go back and watch it and you will see. AMD Baited NVidia who now is really starting to look like a money grabbing cow. I feel bad for all those RTX 2060 -2070 owners that bought their cards less than 6 months ago to see them be replaced. So really what you got is the RTX 2XXX beta then they released the Super. Still very happy with my 400 GTX 1080 Ti with a waterblock i got when the RTX launched: )

Well. AMD again is forced to sell their products by price, because again, NVidia could do a small change to their stuff, rereleasing essentially the same hardware at better price points, while still having the upper hand at the high end segment. But then again, their upcoming release forced NVidia, to drop their prices along with them. Meanwhile, Intel seems beaten for the time being, as they don t seem to have anything in store to counter the Ryzen 3000 Series seemingly great performance at competitive prices. The desktop market finally gets a big upgrade and all, that Intel can do seems to be, to drop their current prices, loosing money and still making some big budget decisions to develop a better hardware and catch up with AMD. It s either that or loosing a market altogether for Intel. So I guess, AMD being as strong as they are, is a win for the consumers.

Thumbs up for all the hard work you guys are putting in. Not just Steve but the whole GN crew! Your hard work shows in your reviews (I even read the articles sometimes instead of watching videos, so thank you so much for taking the time to put them on your website) and is why Gamers Nexus is my first source for hardware news. When Alex Cranz at Gizmodo said that the 2070 Super and 2060 Super were frequently as fast or faster than the 2080 I made sure to link to your written review to demonstrate what proper benchmarks look like. Look, don't judge me for reading Gizmodo. I know it's awful. I only read Alex Cranz articles to see what ridiculous nonsense she's decided to write. The Super review did not disappoint (other than in the sense that there are people who actually read and believe that nonsense.

I think AMD priced their cards higher purposely at E3. Because we know Nvidia wouldn't go below AMD's prices because of their Ego. So AMD can cut prices later and have a decent price to performance ratio against 2070/2060super. AMD can lower the prices by another 50 i think because their chip is so small (251mm2) compared to Vega and turing cards. And I think 5700XT has a nice OC headroom plus 10 Teraflops compute performance. I mostly play multiplayer games so I really dont give a shit about Ray tracing. Who cares about reflection accuracy and some shadows while play multiplayer games, And dont forget that 30%+ FPS drop. lmao.

People really think AMD got Nvidia. The Super cards now cost 50 dollars extra which is a small price to pay for even faster cards than the 2070 and 2060 that the 5700 and 5700xt could already barely beat. If the 5700 and 5700xt dropped 100 then I would give it to them, but anybody with alittle bit of common sense would see the better value. When someone reduces the price on a product before it even releases it's because they know they are going to lose sells if they don't. Nvidia is still keeping AMD one if not more steps behind them.

. Reporters the car bomb in Afghanistan. 12 victims. 179 wounded. What Are The Benefits Of Electronics Companies? Information war. The system is pimps and parasites. Version. Journalists were paid for Japan in advance. Expected rallies and protests in advance until 2011. Killed 10 thousand people. Oligarchs bought journalists and officials. New processors and cameras. Why people die. I earn little. Companies millions of times. Poor me. Firms rich. The rich save. Electronics is hard to believe dear to me.

They know their product is not going to compete with the high end. They don't really care. They already made a fortune with their deals on xbox and playstation. On top of that People will buy the navi gpus if they give more performance at the mid range. Simple. I think you put too much emphasis on the high end. That's not even the 2% of people who buy. No one cares. not being at the high end means nothing for AMD in terms of sells. They've already made very good choices and made a fortune with their deals.

With the constant release of new tech, why would one buy into tech only to be obsolete in a few days time? That is unless you're still rocking a core2duo and literally nothing is compatable software wise lol. Seriously, we use to freak out dropping 500 on a cell every bi year and now were at 1, 000. Now we have processors and gpu's on the same trajectory. I guess its the same people who buy a new car ever few years wasting their money. Must be nice

You do a great job but you re 100% wrong about who is forcing who to drop their prices. AMD forced Nvidia to drop their prices by announcing competitive products in the mid-high ranges at better prices. Nvidia s super line was a direct response to Navi, which prompted AMD to drop their prices to compete with the new line of cards. In the business world this is called a price war, and don t be fooled, AMD started the war; the winner: the consumer.
