Id be more interested in nVidia saying that the 2060 laptop chips are more powerful than the consoles as it would set the bar on what setup people would need to have the proverbial console killer, coz lol it'd be a damn shame if a 3000 laptop couldn't do it (which should be obvious that it can) but not so much of a bad thing if a 700 pc couldn't (PC can do more than just game justifies the premium) just because eventually like all things in this world, that 700 pc will fall to 400- 500 shortly (half a year) after the console release. I was commissioned to replace a PS3 that was serving as an htpc for an older couple with a Phenom II X4 and AMD 7750 based PC with a Blu-ray reader because they were bored of the games, hadn't been able to access the internet for quite so time and couldn't watch the videos their family downloaded onto USB sticks for them; I have the feeling that people that buy these consoles to do more than just game will eventually be in the same position and be disappointed by the limited and relatively overpriced functionality. Sidenote: That pc I built doesn't have the gaming prowess of a PS3 but it plays Pac-man, bejewelled and a wide swath of older games they loved playing in the past. I find this is very common trend in the 35+ crowd here in Canada.

Here's a rundown of graphics cards from both AMD and Nvidia in terms of TFLOPs + Xbox SX GeForce RTX 2080 Ti (Turing TU102) 13. 45 TFLOPs Radeon RX Vega 64 (Vega 10) 12. 66 TFLOPs Same Performance RTX 2080 Max-Q Xbox Series X (Navi - RDNA 2) 12. 15 TFLOPs >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GeForce RTX 2080 Super (Turing TU104) 11. 15 TFLOPs Radeon RX Vega 56 (Vega 10) 10. 54 TFLOPs GeForce RTX 2080 (Turing TU104) 10. 07 TFLOPs Radeon RX 5700 XT (Navi 10) 9. 754 TFLOPs GeForce RTX 2070 Super (Turing TU104) 9. 062 TFLOPs Radeon RX 5700 (Navi 10 XL) 7. 949 TFLOPs GeForce RTX 2070 (Turing TU106) 7. 465 TFLOPs GeForce RTX 2060 Super (Turing TU106) 7. 181 TFLOPs GeForce RTX 2060 (Turing TU106) 6. 451 TFLOPs This is why they are saying theres RTX 2080 Max-Q out performs next gen consoles it's faster but not enough to even merit 50 more this why they say it and not give numbers there in trouble over a console 3-4x the price for the card 4-5x to build the PC, Prices is going to have to change Xbox SX is not just competing with Sony any more

Speaking about Russian's internet you had make some sarcasm? Did you know that Russian's households have way higher speed (and cheaper) internet? Its much more developed in infrastructure side. It is not coax non-sense, and for content creators upload speed is 100Mbps (lowest plan) or 300Mbps is common, while Comcast/ATT stuck on 35Mbps max (back to the past) and fiber optics just not available in 99. 9% of US households. So, meanwhile 300Mbps upload for about 12, not bad huh? As well, you have talking about installing Russian software on computers and smartphones - but did you forget about Huawei ban in the US and other China companies restrictions (thats nothing wrong with it, right. So, Russians doing the same things, backup and protect own national security, that it. As well, do you even imagine that Russian and Chineese have own alternative of Google, Gmail, Facebook, Amazon and other websites alternatives? And local country-wide services are really massive.

If Russia gets their own internet that is big if true. - No Russians in games. - No Russians in games means 90% of the non-English speaking people will be gone. - 90% of the non-English speakers gone means communication will happen in English. - Communication happening in English means better games because you actually get information instead of swearing in Russian. - Everyone is happier. - Mental health for gamers rises. - Skill ceiling rises. - Rest of Europe gets better while Russia rots away domestically.

I already don't play newest AAA titles as they run like shit on PC and if you have a 1440p/144hz or 4k monitor or want to upgrade to one you're forced to also buy a 700+ GPU to keep those frames which I simply refuse to do. Current gpus don't offer performance good enough to justify their bloated pricing. Only thing I truly regret was not buying 1080 ti, that card was wonderful while literally costing less than newer cards with worse performance.

With the news adjacent the Nintendo Playstation Prototype auction I thought take toys home could have meant that the nVidia and Nintendo were filing for divorce, Just as they had done with Sony and Microsoft before. nVidia: monogamous with consoles yet quick to quit and move on. AMD: Polyamorous yet faithful to the bitter end, willing to welcome old lovers and embittered exes of their rivals with open arms.

How to compare arm VS x86 instruction set(what you can do per clock. ARM: 1) take wallet 2) open door 3) walk 4)to shop 5)buy milk 6)walk back x86: 1) take wallet, open door, walk, to shop, buy milk, walk back, drink it. Thats why 80 cores of arm is more like 80 pocket calculators. Its only usefull if you need to open 80 doors often. Anything bit more complex and you feel the pain of RISC instruction set.

Here s the thing about consoles. They are like inkjet printers. HP, Canon, or Brother sell you their printer for less than the production cost and then attempt to lock you into their market for their ink. Consoles do the same with games. I texted my buddy telling him about a game that went on sale and he s like nope, I don t see it at that price. That is the end of the console vs. pc discussion.
