Here's an experimentation in a low budget gaming PC build, but we've mixed it in with proper benchmarks (including thermals, gaming, power) and upgrade option tests. Sponsor: Gigabyte X299X Designare 10G (Amazon

I love you VahginA but you can't be doing that. come on. Lol You should of ordered there DIYPC MA08-BK Black Or DIYPC Solo-T2-BK Black (Larger) About 29-32+ shipped. Or spend + 15 or so for DIY PC better cases. And finally. Fractal Focus with twin front fans for 50-60 shipped(I seen you mention it. but it's not crazy expensive) I think they're complaining about how most of the videos they use a 75-150+ case. 30-65 can have good cases. 40 and below are usually cheap unless Rosewill has a crazy sale. I think I found a crazy big case 45 shipped with a crazy 4x RGB with remote. Yes those deals are hard to find but those cases absolutely put any other case to shame. You were close but you bought like the most hideous version that DIY sells. I know it comes with extra fans but that case is just so hideous. And it's some of their worst quality cases compared to even their cheapest one.

What about a Snowman instead of that Contac 12? Another option: get a PlexHD X79, 2650 v2, 16GB/1866 and spend the saved cash on a better case, sensible cooler (H412R is plenty) and an RX 580 or better; this would give overall better gaming performance despite the lower IPC and it would work much better with games that need more cores/threads (not much of a CPU upgrade path of course, but in general it will last a lot longer as a viable gaming system, and by the time one wished an upgrade one could replace it entirely with either the modern equivalent of the day or a hopefully generally better base spec new parts budget build. Also check TechYesCity for numerous other ideas on budget builds, and RandomGamingHD & PhilsComputerLab for further relevant ideas and info.

Slightly off topic - do we really even need cases any more? Many of the reasons we had cases no longer apply. If you look back to the original ATX time period we used cases to manage all the things that you had to add to make a computer useable/useful: floppy drive(s) hard drive(s) optical drive(S) zip drive sound card 2D video card 3D video card USB card Ethernet Card SCSI card Today: NVME on the MB replaces all the drives Sound is on the MB USB on MB Ethernet on MB SCSI is dead That leaves a video card and even that can go away if you use an iGPU. So why not run open air? If dust is an issue you can hit it with a can every once in a while. It seems like the only reason for cases it to support RGB and keep cats off your RAM.

It's a freaking CASE for crying out loud. The cool air comes in the front, the warm goes out the back. I have had that very case for about three years, the first one it served as my back up machine, and now is my primary. It works just fine, thank you very much. The fans are quiet and and have a nice orange glow. My thermals are fine. Would it withstand being used as a step-stool or a bench? No; but it doesn't have to. If you want to spend more on a case that can withstand a nuclear blast, go ahead. I don't feel the need to spend upwards of a hundred bucks for a metal box to hold the parts that actually matter.

I could recommend a 3000g 371 build with maybe a ram upgrading it to 400 for someone who wants to play world of Warcraft and raid lots, or most e sports games. Although a quad core upgrade and a increase of ram would be highly worth it. I think the 570 gets bottlenecked by a dual core even. U might find a cheap Rx 580 witch is a king for max detail 1080p with the right cpu these days. If ur on this cheap of a budget though and have good knowledge of what to look for and such you might check the used market. 2nd and 3rd gen i7 builds are a hell of a sweet spot right now (aim ofc for i7-2600/2700/3770/3770k.

I been gamingish on a R5 2400G, DEEPCOOL GAMMAXX GT BK, CPU Air Cooler, Asus TUF Gaming B450M, 2x4 2400Mhz OC to 3000Mhz ballistix RAM, 650W Masterwatt PSU. I am really struggling to find and good enough update. I know It has to be the GPU and then the CPU. But. Which GPU. I planned on getting a R5 2600 but I need a GPU. looking at RX590 and GTX 1660. Please Help. Which GPU? The VRM thermals on that MB required me to place a little Fan on them other wise the Integrated Graphics on the 2400G drops to 200Mhz from 1500Mhz extream mode on BIOS.

I'd still spend around 25-35 on a 256gb SSD on the 371 build. Since the focus is gaming a DRAM-less SSD will still work fine, so something like the Silicon Power A55, Crucial BX300, or Adata SU630 is sufficient. If DRAM-less is still a concern, the TeamGroup L5 Lite 3D, Silicon Power P34A60 NVMe, or Intel 660p are decent choices as well for a couple bucks more. This improvement to the general usability of the system really makes the machine better as a whole and would be more likely to be kept in operation for longer imo

I had no idea pc cases had this double mesh impeding airflow issue, I'm currently running a Fractal Focus G case although havent had any thermal issues, I carried over most fans from previous case for now although would like to upgrade fronts to 140MM especially after watching this video, currently 2 x 120MM Antec tricools in front at 1300rpm (varied rpm via cpu temp, Rear exhaust 120MM antec and moved one of the stock Focus G fans to the upper rear exhaust behind CPU (i7 8700K / EVGA RTX 2070.

Today, I have a decent midrange system with an RX 580 and Ryzen 2700. However, my favorite builds are still budget builds. My first system was an i3 6100 and RX 470, so I know what it's like to try and get the best performance at the lowest price. Probably the most exciting segment of the market. Anyone with a few thousand bucks gets a 3950x and a 2080 Super. People at the bottom of the market, however, actually have to look for the best components they can afford.

(Raises hand in the back of the room) Hey, Teacher! May I ask a question? For all the reviews, cheap computer builds, etc, etc. blah, blah, all over youtube. Where the f &k can you actually GET one of these things? (Specifically the CPU) It's not on flunegg, or Anazom (don't know if rules allow real sites. soooo, I am confused. (tbh, we had a name for these things back in the day, youngsters. It was called a paper launch)
