AMD s new Ryzen 4000 CPUs were announced for notebooks and portable devices at #CES2020, and we got hands on with the ASUS Zephyrus G14 R7 4800H laptop. Sponsor: Get Linode Cloud Computing - code GNEXUS20 for 20 credit) During AMD s press conferences at #CES 2020, we were already busy getting hands on the ASUS Zephyrus G14 notebooks. The new line of laptops has most of the Ryzen 4000 CPUs deployed, ranging up to the 8-core, 16-thread Ryzen 7 4800H and down to the 6C/12T and 4C Ryzen 4000 CPUs. These are equipped with Vega graphics, but ASUS is shipping this model of laptop with NVIDIA RTX 2060 or GTX 1660 Ti solutions as accompaniments to the Zen2 4000-series notebook CPUs. We ll cover specs for the new AMD Ryzen 4000 CPUs (listed below, new Athlon mobile CPUs, and briefly talk about the new AMD RX 5000M series of notebook GPUs. - R7 4800H (8C/16T, 45W with exclusive 35W ASUS variants - R5 4600H (6C/12T, 45W with exclusive 35W ASUS variants - R7 4800U (8C/16T, 15W TDP - R7 4700U (8C/8T, 15W TDP - R5 4600U (6C/12T, 15W TDP - R5 4500U (6C/6T, 15W TDP - R3 4300U (4C/4T, 15W TDP - Athlon Gold 3150 (2C/4T) - Athlon Silver 3050 (2C/2T) AMD RX 5000 mobile GPU specs basics include: - AMD RX 5700M (36CU, 8GB GDDR6) - AMD RX 5600M (36CU, 6GB GDDR6) - AMD RX 5500M (22CU, 4GB GDDR6) - AMD RX 5300M (22CU, 3GB GDDR6)

I am a qualified Microsoft Professional, I really only understood 20% of what you were talking about, because I just heard a lot of numbers. I did not understand what you were trying to do or why. I what's a TMC? I need to know how these processeors compare with something we understand i. e intel I series As consumers we buy benefits, as long as the the AMD chips are compatible with my software, in the AMD has not been compatible with Pioneer DJ software reacrd box as an example. So all the specification numbers in the world won't make up for the fact that AMD won't run as effectively as INTEL if the software is not optimised to run AMD. Therefore software compatibility is the boss here. Also keeping it simple will give you a wider audience. Please keep this in mind. Keep up the good work.

my newly built pc ryzen 3600, and rx 5700 xt. Amd hardwares are plague with shitty and DOA driver. random rebooting/ crash and random black screen. it is so unstable. dont get me wrong, before this ive used intel and nvidia, never i got these kind of driver and hardware unstable problem. i checked google, there are so many got the same problem. not just ryzen 3600 but with 3700x, 3800x and even 3900. all of it got random crash and rebooting. the rx 5700 xt, this shitty gpu everybody owns it are sick of random black screen and rebooting. amd hardware are full of shit. its even picky with RAM. we cannot simply buy any ddr4 ram, it wants ram which stated ryzen ready my ass. my next PC surely no more amd but intel and nvidia.

Notice how there's not a single video about these processors where one of the so called Hands on reviewers actually touches the keyboard. Dodgy embargo tells me this is being hyped. From an engineering point of view, it's impossible to achieve battery gains if the user is taking advantage of the machine's maximum performance/power. This would be like trying to get good fuel economy from a Bugatti Chiron whilst driving it a max speed. My guess is you will see all day battery life, but only if end users do the most basic tasks on it e. g checking emails, spreadsheet & word processing use, occasional short youtube video

G14, This is exactly what I m looking for personally. 13-14, good processor for video editing in the go, that looks high quality, and not bulky. Price will determine if this is my. Ext purchase. They excluded thunderbolt three and that s a big deal on laptops. Since they excluded this feature that limits the longevity of a laptop side you can t add a external gpu. So price will have to be lower here. If this laptop has a decent price, the processor is solid, build quality is solid, and battery life is good, I ll purchase as soon as I can.

no words about clevo amd desktop socket notebook? just found out that clevo has a backdoor room on CES LOL I quote XMG representative here. I was with Jarrod when he gained access to the backdoor rooms at Clevo on CES. We'll get our first sample of this chassis in a few weeks and we'll be able to provide performance numbers pretty soon. Clevo NH57ADS it can run with a 12 core/24 thread Ryzen 9 3900 processor please get access to that hidden room

So disappointing that there still is no Zen 2 and Navi based APU's for the desktop market. But considering where they're taking the APU's on the laptop end its still promising for the future. I'm really hoping to see an R9 level APU sometime in the near future and it might be what I base my next build around as it seems like it would be very fun to play with overclocking on.

I'm fine with vega+/VII but why not 10-13CUs? Maybe saving that for Ryzen 9 4000 mobile? unless they're trying to shrink their chip package i cant see a reason to NOT have 13CUs or more at 7nm vs 14nm they can fit 8 cores in the same space, in the same logic the 7nm vega should be able to fit 20CU in the same space as 10CU, or for mobile, 16 CUs in the same space as 8 CUs

I would have thought IPS Level refers to IPS-type panels produced by companies other than LG. LG owns the IPS term, it's not a generic name for the panel technology, rather it is the name for LG's tech specifically. AUO calls their IPS-type panels AHVA, for example. Terrible name when you consider it doesn't relate to Samsung's VA panel technology.

So when will we see and who will be the first to relise RX 5600M and RX 5700M laptops? I saw what RX 5500M can do so i have an idea how powerfull will these two be but id like to see them. Im interested in 5700m + 4800h variant. I also hope to see Razer Blade RED edition as they are scoping for 4800HS 35W CPU which is logical for their design.

I am very disappointed AMD did not announce an upgrade to the 3400G. I have been waiting for a GPU upgrade to the Ryzen chip since the 3400G. I like to build tiny computers with gaming potential. Too bad the Radeon RX Vega M GH is not combined with a Ryzen chip for motherboards. Oh, well, I will just have to wait a bit longer.
