5:25 And 2K is actually 1080p. So, if they mean 1440p that's just factually wrong if they are not doing it knowingly, I wouldn't blame them because many many many people get this 2K and 1440p thing wrong. ESPECIALLY in the PC gaming community. But then on the other hand they might use it the exactly predatory way that they actually report 1080p performance as you should when talking about 2K but they know that most PC gamers think 2K is 1440p. Bad, bad, bad Newegg.
Edit: Okay, on the next page they show 1080, 2K, and 4K. So, they are making this mistake too. No wonder PC gamers call 1440p 2K because even these big companies keep doing it.

2k is such an annoying way of naming resolutions. 4k in 35mm film was named like this since it had 4000 lines/pixel horizontal resolution. Following that logic, 2k should mean 1080p, since it has the closest to 2000 pixel horizontal resolution, NOT 1440p.
I wish we'd get megapixels instead. Ie. 4k/2160p 16.9 is around 8 Megapixel, 1440p 21:9 is 5MP in comparison while 1440p 16:9 is 3.6 MP, 1080p ultrawide is 2.7MP and 16:9 is just 2MP. Making it a bit more obvious how much more demanding those increased steps in resolution are and giving an easy idea why you need a nearly twice as powerful GPU to go from 1080p to 1440p and so on.

I don't think they realize that their customers have trust issues at this point. Hence, they're not doing anything to win at least some of that back. Apparently they still run well enough.
As a big company, they could activily support reviewers and get their data this way or they could even have an in-house testing lab and hire competent people that run it.
This website just screams: incompetent sales people.
At least try to be a tiny bit professional as a tech company. I could've pulled this webshite out of were the sun doesn't shine.

so then these companies and AIB partners complaining about less than profitable buy back arrangements with intel ARC? they seem to have problem to make their buy back cases with nvidia and AMD too from the looks of it. right? look at this newegg GPU garage sale thing. i mean, im an AMD supporter, but i dont want to see intel ARC project/division in intel being shutdown. there are people ON THE JOBS there on the arc GPU project. dont make it another artesian build death case. THERE ARE PEOPLE ON THE JOBS THERE. even if they are bad company.

After the BS they were doing before and after the promises made with that?
This isn't a good look.
A lot of flashy graphics but no effort behind actually trying to help the customer. There's better ways to get rid of old GPUs, it's not like they're not going to move. There's ALWAYS people who are looking for a budget option and if it comes to new egg having to opt for selling less? Oh well.
Maybe they shouldn't have been doing shady BS with those GPUs and PSU

Clearly shows that the Newegg interview stuff was just all PR stunts from Newegg's end imo. They now know better than anyone that GN is keeping a close eye on them. And even if not, audience members will be quick to point out something, if not anything, fishy that'll be going on in Newegg, and GN will be sure and quick to follow something up. But you know what they decide to do? Deceive customers that don't know better and try create shitty marketing schemes....

Remember when companies that had excess stock of soon to be outdated products would do this crazy thing called discounting ?
If you haven't heard that word before it's understandable: it's when a company puts items up for sale below MSRP (yes BELOW MSRP is a price level that exists, I know things are getting heady and esoteric here but stick with me) in the hopes of moving it to free up stock space and move those items before they're completely irrelevant.

Um, well not a fan of NewEgg but, you can't really fault them for having a rounding down and or disclaimers to the data. Otherwise NewEgg would probably have everyone attempting to sue them for false advertising, if they can't replicate the FPS/benchmark NewEgg shows on a graph. As you yourself said We are not a retailer and I feel like more though was put into making zingers, then understanding the reality of retail sales tactics to protect your ass.

this just reeks of good idea. give the website guy enough to build out a site and there being not technical know-how overseeing what's going on.
The cynic in me thinks they're presenting the stack to skew more expensive results (via TimeSpy results x a standardised game score) to ensure they sell of stock they're going to make the biggest loss on if they carry it. EDIT: oh hey you mentioned it at 17:50

It what I've always said Their was no shortage... At least not enough to justify the price hikes. If I was willing to pay double MSRP they'd have brought me a dozen cards no questions asked. Now people have gotten more humble with their current GPU's and are willing to wait itill the next gen launch. I hope these companies loose money bigtime on all these Gpu's serves them right for being so Greedy!

It s so weird to see this sort of thing
I m from Australia and have previously worked for our largest PC part retailer and this sort of shit would never fly.
It s literally illegal to do this sort of thing here. You would get fined out of the wazoo for each item that has been listed with false information.
Does America just not have any sort of consumer protection laws?

remember folks: newegg was a good company before a Chinese tech company took over. Now they're pulling off these shady stunts. Corporate China is just like Corporate America, but somehow just more blatant with their shittiness, because who the hell will stop them? All their big companies, especially tech ones, are working for and are thus protected by their government.

If you dont say 2k, it does not mean no one says it. This site is oriented for casual consumers, plus 2K is a lot shorter than 2560x1440p resolution , which is neat if you want to save some space in your UI, isnt it? I get that newegg is doing some cringe stuff, but its not a reason to just mock them for every little subjectively wrong thing you find

Stop buying at NewEgg and they will crawl back like a dog. Don t cooperate with companies that don t give a hot sh#t about you nor want to make fair trades with you. Speak with your money. NewEgg can only pull stuff like this because people are dumb enough to fall for it and give them their money. Buy at smaller, more local store or shops.
