As I said in other comments this is trash, BUT they did work within reasonable performance ( I mean the games worked fine ) and that for your averange pc user and gamer is fine, my brother has a Dell pre-built that is 8 years old and still working , it can't play new triple A titles but it works, the problem is you have almost no upgrade pathway. And he will have to buy or build another system. And actually here in my country we don't have much option, you have Dell, Hp, and Positivo ( a local shit brand), and you can other pre-built in some online hardware (there are like 3 of them), and last time I looked here it is a bit more expensive to build one than buying from Dell , I belive that is because tax on products here are super high. But they could do a better job, I don't understand how they can build amazing notebooks and can do crap like this in desktops.

I am disgusted , shocked and my day is ruined .. but reliefed aswell. Why? because i never liked, trusted and i always flamed the shit out of any pre-built , telling everyone that they are not worth half the price you pay for .. but still , getting that piece of garbage for 1400 is absolutely horrendous .. especially that we are in 2021. Absolutetly shame to HP (yes alienware .. i mean dell you too). They literally are scamming people legally , and nobody can do anything. Obviously the most affected are the ones who are clueless about PC's in general ...
Please people , tell everyone .. your friends , family , dog , cat .. even your biggest enemy .. DONT BUY PRE-BUILTS ! Not even as a joke...
p.s.
Sorry if my english was bad (im still learning) !

So because I am apparently old, I will explain the screws for you. HP merged with Compaq back in the day (Am pretty sure you know this). Slotted and TORX screws are standard on Compaq systems and servers and were fully carried over to the HP world as nearly everything product wise from PCs and servers were brought over to HP and just had the word Compaq stripped off (Or not in a lot of cases initially).
As for the garbage design, other than Proliant rackmount servers, I would personally stay as far away from HP, for anything else, as possible. They are the worst designed, hardest to work on, cheapest BOM systems out there. Maybe some of their modern laptops in the premium price range are OK but, no, I just won't even risk that.

We have been using HP office PC's where I used to work, some of them so old they predate Intel Core processors altogether, and these have far better ventilation, the CPU heatsink is usually a small tower with far more surface area, and has a plastic duct to the exhaust fan. The front panel is plastic on top of metal in those, but it does at least allow some air through.
How did they manage to get so many things wrong that they have been getting right for years in lower performance products? the new mini G5 that uses a 65W laptop power supply for power and is about 7CM thick has more ventilation than this. We didn't even have to use any tool to remove either the front or side panel FFS.

I don't understand why i5 + 2060 Super + 32GB ram is a bad combo. Sure, 32GB is maybe not necessary now, but if you running all that bloatware and chrome while gaming, it might become essential very soon. And the customer service agent needs to give advice on their products. And to customers who don't build themselves, is most likely not very tech-savvy, and doesn't know to remove bloatware. So, I think the advice is decent. It seems like a piece of shit PC, but give the customer service agent some love man. He probably hates the job but at least he knows what he's doing.

In a world where everything we do is being regulated to be more green, how is it possible companies are still allowed to produce ewaste like this? Where normally a pc like this would be somewhat fixable and could be given a second life somewhere else, and it could sometimes last up to 10 years or longer, here come hp, dell, and miscreants, making sure all their products become useless every 2 to 3 years, more than tripling their emissions and ewaste, maybe that should've been more of a focus on the energy bill, something tells me that would've had a far bigger impact

I've been building and repairing PCs since the mid 90s and this thing ranks right up there with the worst ever. 20+ year old system design from the top down. It's rather embarrassing a company like HP could be so blind to their own incompetence.
I can almost forgive their phone support. There's no telling who you're really talking to and their overall knowledge of how a PC works. All they're probably being told is to upsell, upsell, upsell trying to hit some unreasonable corporate goal/target so they can keep their job.

I've seen and hated this proprietary crap from big names for over 2 decades. There isn't even any reason to make them, other than prohibiting user from upgrading the system. They spend money designing and manufacturing this non-standard crap, I doubt they make make it back with things like integrating front IO. Latter is a rarity itself, most do not have any components designed in a way it would save them 25cents

The absolute hypocrisy of it all infuriates me.
The state of california wants to arbitrarily ban pc's for having too much fps from being sold, but they allow THESE LITERAL TURDS to be made and sold when they are actual hot garbage. Why? Why is HP allowed to sell such trash in the first place, let alone at such a ridiculous markup? I'm nauseous even just finishing watching how miserable this pc ended up being.
