Would love to see where the smaller be quiet! BK030 Pure Rock Slim 2 (currently 30 on Amazon) and the ARCTIC Freezer 7 X (at 23.50 on Amazon) fall into these rankings .. and thank you for showing where my Wraith Spire/R5 3600 falls into this ranking (though my kit included the Wraith Stealth) .. I have been noticing it has been running right at 90F with the AMD overclocking running and Radeon GPU overclocking turned on .. cooling has been a pretty serious concern and I am not a wealthy guy who can easily afford some of the pricier cooling solutions, but, a good cooling solution REALLY beats having to replace more expensive PC parts .. that would hurt the wallet BIG TIME .. thanks for what you guys do ..
Edit .. and maybe toss in that (AIO) EVGA CLC 120mm 400-HY-CL11-V1 (currently 50 for the none RBG version) .. it hit's that 50.00 bracket ..
.. and for disclosure, NO, I am not an Amazon shill .. but I am old and can't get out to go shopping at an actual store very easily .. so .. Amazon .. lol ..

Hm i dont know. It seems to be just fine but i would probably just go with a BeQuiet Pure Rock 2. Should not be that much more expensive(of course depending on availability and where you live) and you have an asymmetric design that helps with high ram coolers and it has nicer build quality and a few more nice to have visual features. Only thing that the Vetroo has is the RGB-Fan. And if you want that there are some alternatives from thermaltake for example. But if it is less expensive and does the job for your system then its nice to know it is available i guess :)

Hey Steve Looking forward to the Hyper 212 review, as it's been my go to air cooler for quite a while now on new clients builds, when they either don't want, or can't afford, a liquid cooler solution. I love the fact that it just does what it says it does with no muss and no fuss. Also, because I get used equipment all the time, I have extra brackets, so I end up putting two fans on the Hyper, (depending on the mobo) which really helps a lot when gaming or overclocking. I agree that for a tight budget build with i5 / R5 CPUs the Vetroo would be a good choice.

I personally have the Vetroo V5 on my Ryzen R7 3700x (B450i Aorus ITX motherboard) and i have been using now for about 8 months with no issues or overheating of my cpu. My cpu generally runs around 70c to low 70c's during intense gaming session. For the money I found the Vetroo V5 to be more than capable for gaming and heavy cpu use on my SFF pc case (Cooler Master NR200P) and I'm more than happy to recommend it. Great review GN. It's great to see more budget friendly brands getting reviewed and tested, showing how good they can be for the right scenarios :D

I'd love to see fan normalised testing of these coolers, to test which of the bare metal coolers performs better. It would also show how much of their performance is down to the fans being good vs the quality of the heatsink. I've not used the included fan on a CPU cooler in about 5 years now (since RGB all the things happened!).
I get that you're testing the out of box experience though and realise that putting someone else's fan on a cooler might annoy certain manufacturers.

I have a very unique cooling solution. A custom liquid loop with an external 360mm radiator using only two 120mm fans on the inside of the case. It works well for a 3900X. With the radiator being outside the case it's ambient temperature is several degrees lower than an internal radiator. It also get's a weak natural airflow around the whole radiator outside.

Would love to see you do a Noctua NH-U14S to give a comparison from a cheaper type one to a higher end one, would be interesting to see what your money gets you. I have the TR4 version of this and has been great but would be good to see what a cheaper one can do compared.
Just noticed you have done a similar one, didn't see that before posting lol

I'd still save my 30 bucks until I had enough for a descent cooler which is exactly what I did I went from the stock Wraith Prism to an Cryorig RI Universal on my R7 3700X with an all core 4375MHz clock and it's temps in an 22 degree room sits at 65c or below all the time so I'm happy and it's relatively quiet aswell even at full tilt

6:44 it is not a fault. They do it because they can attach a second fan on the left side to sell more expensive. Its produced in china and its the same like other cheap brands and I bet its most likely produced even in the same company in china... So, the only reason for that is, that they can attach a second fan on the left side...
