There's plenty of even current games that require MORE than 8GB VRAM for even MEDIUM settings with Ray tracing, like:
Resident Evil 4,
Hogwarts Legacy,
The Callisto Protocol,
A Plague Tale Requiem,
Etc
And if you want to play these games at 1440p ultimate settings, or 4K, then 16GB is the entry point for acceptable new GPUs. Game developers are saying that new games, even later THIS year, will need at least 12GB to run even 1080p at just medium settings, which is entry level, without any future proofing, so a poor investment.
NVidia needs to fix their prices and release refreshed VRAM versions of their existing RTX 4000 cards:
4090 999 -24GB VRAM
4080Ti 899 -24GB VRAM version
4080 799 -16GB VRAM
4070Ti 699 -16GB VRAM version
4070 599 -16GB VRAM version
4060Ti 499 -16GB VRAM version
4060 399 -16GB VRAM version
4050Ti 299 -16GB VRAM version
4050 199 -16GB VRAM version
If they still want a huge profit margin flagship GPU, for people willing to pay for the very best, they could release a new RTX4090Ti / titan with 48GB VRAM, display port 2.1 & PCIe5 for something like 2,000.
This pricing would be consistent with the previous pricing, even taking into account the cost of living inflation.
They should simply stop making new GPUs with less than 16GB VRAM. Buying a GPU with less than 16GB VRAM in 2023 is buying a short shelf life, already showing obsolescence in some recent triple A games, graphics card!
So if you REALLY want an RTX4060 wait for the 16GB version, don't waste your money on a short use life 8GB card!

The worst part of this sharade (factoring in the review results) is that I sincerely doubt AMD's willingness to profit of this desastrous excuse for a mid range lineup.
Make no mistake, Navi33 won't compete with full AD106, but it will make quick work of the 4060's cut down version that comes with even less cache. If I were AMD, I'd price the 7600 at 249 and get a 16GB model out until July at 300 - 329 max. Nvidia'd be caught with their pants down in an arctic winter. And although this might look agressive, they certainly could - Navi33 is a tiny die and it's on N6, that makes for way cheaper silicon.
But again, I don't think they'd be willing to. Pity.

Seeing a lot of comments talking about this being a 4050 disguised as a 4060 Ti; y'all are absolutely right, by the way. But has anyone noticed that we've heard no word whatsoever from NVIDIA about a 4080 Ti? What about the 4090 Ti? Call me a conspiracy theorist but i wouldn't be surprised of the reason we haven't seen these cards is because the 4090 IS the 4080 Ti and there is no true 4090. My conclusion? This whole generation was a scam from the start and was always going to be.

Pretty interesting. I actually work in factory running a machine that populated PCBs with parts. We basically build little computers for your various car safety systems. I m not sure what they call a GPU in production but it looks like QFP which would come in stacks of trays full of them.
Next time we have a communication meeting I want to suggest that we start building graphics cards so that I can make something I actually give a shit about.

13:53 why would the flowthrough design lose ground here? Didnt the same design work for the 4090/4080? And those were 450/600 Watts card.
So why would this design not work? Apart from the Above MSRP triple fan AIBs cards. Most will be just dual fans. So shouldnt the flowthrough design compete with them? Whats the catch with the design? I would love a video about GPU coolers designs. And the advanteges and disadvanteges of them.

At this point, I'd rather just skip this series and 7000 of AMD or play with a consoles until this fracas have been ironed out. Price is still too high for what you get .Not paying 550- 600 canadian for that crap LOL. I can imagine how Ngreedia fleece these AI companies who just throw around Billions for A1000 and H1000s . Manufacturing cost for those are probably just 10% of what Jensen charged for those.

what if NVDIA had put all the work to make their card look pretty and otherwise useless decorative costs into actually engineering to make this product a performance innovator, wouldn't that actually create more revenue and market share?
Remember there are no good or bad companies only competent or incompetent people working at these companies and that includes leadership roles all the way to the CEO.

This pretty much confirms that the 4000 series was initially supposed to add 50% extra performance at every class level.
If this had been the 4050, that would be close to true. Look at 3070-Ti vs 4070-Ti, 4080 vs 3080 and 3090 vs 4090.
But that would be a repeat of RTX 1080 Ti at every level and nvidia wants people to be on a constant upgrade cycle, so they pull this instead.

You know, If they just put a low profile cooler on it would have some value to it, I just find the cooler so excessive for what it is, yet its kinda cute of how small that board is, but at the same time its probably one of the most unremarkable internals i have ever seen, Understandable for what they wanted to do with the card, sickening its so barebones like a GT1030

The 40 series singlehandedly caused me to end my 20 year long Nvidia fanboy-ism.
I see tons of simpers (including Tech Yes City) saying that giving less for more money is just smart business practice. Sure, it works until gamers get fed up with it.
I think most gamers have hit that point.

Games: Devs, I shit on optimization.
Companies: Intel, AMD, Nvidia: Buy, Don't Ask! Buy it and don't disturb me! Buy it has no difference for you!
Great video buddy.

I always find it funny all the AMD shills that come to these videos whenever Nvidia releases a GPU.
I'm still enjoying my GTX 970 (my son actually), GTX 1070, RTX 2070, rtx2080ti, my RTX 3090, and my RTX 4090. Shill on AMD fans and employees.

I was always under the impression that magnets and computers should be kept far apart, not put directly together on a piece of hardware.
Isn't NVIDIA risking errors and/or failures with these magnets on the hardware? Or is that not a thing?

At this point I truly think the only reason that this card has a 12vhpwr connector at all is to give the illusion of it being more powerful and current gen in terms of tech than it actually is inside. Absolute nonsense.

re approx 7.20, the deco in art deco is short for decorative, so it kind of is an art deco deco plate, also, that is a 200 currency unit card and I'd be amazed if anyone will be able to convince me otherwise.
