NVIDIA's presentation gives us a dystopian look at visions of a monopolistic future whererin Moore's Law has become Schrodinger's Moore's Law: It is simultaneously dead and at 2x, as long as you don't check the performance. This covers the NVIDIA keynote from #Computex 2023, hosted by NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang.

I said this during the Intel showcase (the Thanks papa.....yeah one), but this feels like what happens when you're doing a presentation for a school project and you're told that you won't get full marks if you just present the information normally. You need to add personality. The problem is in cases like here and with Intel, you've got people that (maybe) have a strong grasp at the technical angle but are complete and total charisma vacuums, telling stilted jokes and then asking the audience to please laugh after they inevitably don't land. If you're not entertaining, that's fine. You don't have to be. Just present the information you need to present with confidence as if you know what you're talking about instead of trying to play the peanut gallery. Don't make it more painful to sit through than it needs to be.

Yeah, nvidia, the more you buy the more you save.
When literally their dlss doesn't work with the pre generation(s) and AMD made theirs work with their competitors pre generation.
And again, they bring frame generation, limited to their newest generation (with excuses it wouldn't run on their old).. and AMD saying their frame generation will not be limited to it's AI processors (though we will see how and where it will run).
Luckily at least in germany AMD is finally outselling Nvidia, and hopefully more countries will follow. (not that they're without fault, but nvidia is just so anti consumer it's just plain ignorant to still buy their products).

More you buy more you save - reminds teleshoping with legendary Horst Fuchs from 90tys, that guy advertised the same phylosophy, but at last he did not said that, however its pretty much summs up 4000serie, you can buy 4090 or pretty much pointless products, question is .Do we realy need pointless products ? Where is the point of pointless product ? Also custommer with limited budget is logicaly punished for having limiting budget in this case, which means .... Please guys with limited budget avoid our products, you will get less value for beying poor, so dont buy it , please. :D :D :D

The problem is that fanboy people buy apple, buy into the BS and community nonsense. They don't care about how closed the system is, how wasteful replacement over repair is and how fascist Apple conducts itself when it comes to right to repair. Businesses simply offer what consumers want so if it works then who's fault is it really? It's kinda like P2W: the vocal minority may cry about it but the (silent) majority buy that crap head over heels making those companies billions and billions, it's almost the case that the more absurd it is the more people want it.

think it would be harder to define times in which they werent like apple. see: game works, purchasing physx, hairworks trying to establish 'rtx' branding on games which are just direct x ray tracing, dlss, gsync, cuda
their entire strategy for the longest time has been closed wall garden, make it impossible to have a direct comparison with anyone else only we can run the software at these settings, those other settings arent what you should use anyways

Wow thanks for this video, clearly that keynote speech sucked big time, full of awful cringey moments. Their astronomical earnings are possibly contributing to decoupling them more and more from customers and reality. Jensen's Keynote at GTC 2018 I think is still one great and inspiring speech, very much worth the 2 hours. But this one... even the total couple of minutes clipped here are hard to endure. So much has changed

sooo.....if its a law then isn't it equally as dead if its running at 2X as it would be if the process stopped entirely? I mean, it's a law, right? As in, unchangeable...? So 2x=NOTx just as 0x=NOTx...right???
I may be greatly misunderstanding laws though...so zero cocaine is fine, x cocaine is jail, does that mean that 2x cocaine is fine again? ...so does that apply to ladies of the night also?

One of the quickest ways to ruin your business is to rely on the quality of the NVIDIA software that serves their hardware. If there is a critical bug that is crucial for your business, it can take years for NVIDIA to fix it. Also, the insider info: NVIDIA has a staggering amount of nepotism and favoritism in the workforce. All NVIDIA can suggest is just hype from the clown.

Jensen seemed here like a man who lost the ability to be challenged on his ideas by anyone from his company. Entire execution of this presentation left me baffled, uncomfortable and frankly embarrassed.
Change the scenery, change the background - and literally this presentation starts to take on the character of some vagabond recluse/spiritual guide shroom induced trip.

Jensen sounds like the Terminator from the T2 movie. Zero human emotions and jokes presented in so creepy way that nobody understands them. We decided to trash all projects based on NVidia last year as we could not understand why the ecosystem is so crappy and disfunctional - this video pretty much summarizes up the same feelings that we - developers - had.

I remember in the late 1960's or early 70's GM advertised the longest car they had ever made . The TV commercial featured an actor beside a car standing on it's ss end with the camera looking down from above at the actor and car. Was ridiculous. Maybe Nvidia's next keynote will feature the longest CPU ever made, not just the heaviest, lol. Edit:spelling.

Jensen is not the (Adam) Jensen I want in my Cyberpunk dystopia. NVIDIA is lead by a greedy cesspit of a man, but it's obvious that won't bother with us anymore. I guess that's fine; we have Intel and AMD next up for us and the rest of the gaming industry can struggle for a minute in telling NVIDIA off.

When they start with that I am AI bit that they've been recycling for years on end now, you know it's gonna be more of the same old boring crap, even if you're more in the GTC/professional/HPC crowd they're trying to target with these. The last time they had a unique opening was what, CES 2017?

Jensen single handedly delivered GN a load of memes and cutscenes to use for the rest of the year, and NVIDIA's computex key note just earned a spot on the disappointment list of 2023. (I can already see Steve picking the most hilarious quote from Jensen and naming it the date of their keynote)

I really don't understand why all of this negativity throughout the whole video.
Did I miss anything?
Is it cool to hate on Nvidia or Jensen these days?
I really don't get this video at all, and most of the time I like your videos.
It is not a good look on you that's for sure.
