Right now though, we just don't see where you buy a card unless truly in need as the pricing situation is out of control across all tiers, used and new alike. We benchmarked the RTX 5060 Ti vs. the RTX 4060 Ti 8GB, the RTX 3070 Ti, 3080, RX 9070, RX 7600, and dozens more video cards to test the performance of something that will ultimately be leveraged by parasites. Awesome so we are being asked to pay 30 dollars more than what the 7700 XT had come down to, Almost 2 years and a whole new generation after it's launch. And let's be honest here, it won't sell at MSRP, so people will be paying $100 more. This is insane, we are actually losing value. We are paying more for the same exact crap. How the hell is a 3060 Ti going to be so damn close to the 5060. The damn 1080 Ti still beats the current 4060. What the heckkkkk is going on here! Boycott this crap. The 5060 Ti doesn't even outperform the 4070 LOL! It's just comical at this point. Nvidia has nothing to offer. I hope AMD punishes them and takes their lunch and that it has reverberating effects in the generations to come so that this clown car that is Nvidia, learns it's lesson well. Duopoly or not, DO NOT scoff at your consumer base for two straight generations. And that's being kind, considering touring was an utter disaster as well. We've had one good generation in the last four generations with Nvidia. And it's not like the performance wasn't there on these nodes. They just cut the die sizes, the bus widths, and the VRAM to such a ridiculously anemic amount while charging us more, that it just looked like it was bad. The 4090 wasn't bad performance wise. But the 5090 is an absolute joke, so they even failed miserably at that.

Looking forward to the upcoming content! In the current market of scarcity, encouraging to buy used, etc. I would really love to see a revisit on GPU and CPU bottlenecks with modern hardware and higher resolutions. If I can find a good deal on X GPU, what is the minimum CPU I should pair with it at 1440p, 4K If I have Y CPU lying around, what’s the best practical GPU which won’t be bottlenecked Obviously I know you can’t test every combination of CPU and GPU at every resolution, but if there’s some way to offer useful guidelines for this without prohibitive time investment on your team, this would be very valuable information to me personally and maybe others who are going bargain hunting. Thanks Steve!

I bought a replacement video card for my 4-year-old video card and it was the 4060 and I've been happy with that next time I will be replacing my video card it won't be Nvidia as over the last few years I have not liked where they've been going last time I touched a AMD or as I know it back in the day ATI I got heavily burned by them and never picked up a card again but looking at it today it seems like these cards are way better granted this was probably close to 20 years ago when I had an ATI video card think this was in like 2008 or 2009 at the time but my next card will definitely be an AMD one once I'm in the market for a new video card

Is it just me, or has NVidia taken us all a step backwards with our GPUs You cant buy 4090s anymore and the 5090 is unreachably expensive so both of those cards basically don't exist. So, the best gaming GPU is the 5080 but the power cable might overheat and catch fire, might have defective components that make it 10% less powerful, is still fairly expensive, and only performs about as good as the 4090. Hence, have we gone backwards this generation

Video is great as always and sorry to skip past that, BUT... i recently bought your Snowflake dice set and they're so awesome. I love your dedication to quality. I actually ended up gifting them to a close friend in Canada that absolutely adores them for her all of her DnD rolling (between DnD sessions atm personally, but we're working on that) so I think I'm gonna have to get another set for myself. Just really loved the product - could not be happier.

I can't believe this thing is at best slightly more powerful than the 3070 Ti and at worst less powerful. I was looking at the review for this since I've been wanting to upgrade from that card to something with more vram but Nvidia's really bastardized their 60 class cards. Ludacris that this card is two generations later and might provide roughly the same performance as the 3070 Ti for more money due to scalping and tariffs.

I need some help, i have a build, but i want to update my graphics card, i have a intel i9 14900k and rn im on a 3060ti, also i have a lg ultragear 45 monitor and i only want to play at that resolution, my answer is, its okay to go with the 5070 ti I dont want to play at ultra settings because with that resolution playing at low or medium looks amazing, i need some help

Each diagram should have two vertical lines for 30 FPS and 60 FPS. So that it would be clear to the buyer that all cards that give less than 30 FPS are useless garbage, and if 30-60 FPS, then these are budget solutions that will be garbage tomorrow. It's funny that then, considering the diagram at 19:22, only two cards that are not budget low-power stubs are 4090 and 5090.

The thing I don't understand with modern graphics cards is the fact you need to set your game to lower resolution then set your card to upscale it.
Why can't it be one single setting
Something like 4k (native) and 4k (upscale).
I'm not a hardcore gamer anymore, I just want a game to look good and not lag without spending an hour to tweak all settings available.

I just upgraded to AMD5 from a GTX 1650, and from laptop to desktop. I've been wanting to build a machine for a while. The GTX 1650 struggles to play the new titles, if at all, and low settings is the only way to play most games. It took most of the night to build, I had to figure out the wiring management. My case blessed me with 7 pre-installed fans.

The elephant in the room is how awful any AAA game made in the past few years looks on 1080p. Awful dithering on fine details, and greasy/blurry backgrounds. It's really shocking, considering how some games from as far back as 2012 can look better than anything modern on 1080p with just some texture packs and maybe a reshade slapped over top.

People need to stop comparing prices to previous generations as inflation has to be taken into account. If people previously complain about price and lack of ram NVIDIA has built the card that you asked for. The compromise is you have less cores to meet the price point. The card is ok at MRSP the issue is the inflated prices.

So having RX 7700 XT there is no reason to buy this card, performance gain is way too small.
And RTX 5070 costs like 60% more than RX 7700 XT.
So I essentially have no Nvidia options left to buy this gen, as its either a card with almost the same performance, or spending WAY more for the next card.

Thanks for putting in the hard work Steve and crew. It's crazy to see how Nvidia has changed in the last few years. I have a 7800xt and have a 9070xt on the way. I still think the 7800xt is a great card though for 1440p. I may keep it and build a second PC for my living room. Keep up the good work

This market sucks for me and my partner who are on GTX 980ti and 980. Sure anything at the higher end is going to be night and day, but it sucks that the high end option seems to be the 7900 XTX which is quickly becoming a 2 year old GPU at near to MSRP pricing (here in the uk at least)

On driver version 575.92 5060Ti 16GB outperforms 4070 by 15-20% in CP2077 2k benchmark without dlss, but if 4070 is using last year december driver, margin of difference is reduced, still 5060Ti is leading. In my opinion, Nvidia is reducing performance for 40series by drivers
reply

It's crazy to spend that much on a 4090/5090, when that card has a good chance of melting power plugs. I only know two people with 4090s, and one of those has melted. I would prefer, If I'm spending ludicrous money on a single PC part, that it is not going to melt itself.
reply

Can we be realistic! The 5060 Ti is an ENTRY LEVEL card It's a 1080p GPU, if you want to game at 1440p this isn't for you Nvidia screwed everything up with their hype but its a solid 1080p performer Lets just say that can't we Because that's the bottom line
reply

You could give your value judgement. You just don’t want to say it so I’ll say it for you. No absolutely not. No one should buy the updated 3070 unless you don’t have a pc or yours is completely dead especially for the price of the switch 2 or ps5 if you’re gaming
reply

It's wild that game devs will release games where the next generation of GPUs can't even handle 1440/144fps
I promise their games would sell better if they cut the graphics budget in half and devoted it to performance but you'd never convince an executive of that
