It's gonna suck for sure seeing prices going in weird places...
But many nations have already negotiated more reasonable tariff's, and even some countries negotiated a 0 tariff policy in both directions. The US was getting demolished in terms of the tariff's we paid to other countries. We suddenly tariff half of their average and everything goes crazy
It's gonna suck, But I feel like the US shouldn't sit around being taken advantage of forever. Some nations already negotiated something out. Lots more are coming to the table. And a couple nations like China seem to not want to make a deal with the US, but instead they just want to pout like a child and make tariff's higher and higher hoping they get their way. So our recripical tariff's are doing as the word reciprocal intends...
Also bringing manufacturing into the US was just another target of these tariff's. We've been seeing a lot of companies putting a ton of money into building here. H1B hires have also become significantly more expensive to bring into the US. Making US citizens the target of hiring campaigns to work within the US again.
Here's hoping our other federal taxes go down to compensate for higher product costs. Would be super nice to bring home more of the money we earn.

Not sure how easy of an idea this would be to introduce into upcoming videos (especially if there are requirements you have to meet if you're to keep getting video cards in early for review) but I think a having a segment that sets out 'thresholds' for pricing would be the best way to go about it. So instead of going off of rumours of what the card will be and going from there, I would instead give a price that YOU think would make the card: A must buy - Priced so that the performance is genuinely FANTASTIC, Well priced - What would be an alright price to pay if someone REALLY needs the upgrade to a new card, A Bit Too Much - There are multiple better options for the same performance at a lower price and, Completely Avoid - Priced wayyyyyy too high and is clearly just a video card manufacturer trying to pull a fast one on unknowing consumers. I think breaking it down this way would be the best way to inform viewers about the value of the card and that way they can make their own choice on how much they need the card being reviewed specifically. Again, the main issue I see with this method is manufacturers getting pissy about having their latest and greatest products being labelled in such a way.

The importer pays the tariff, and the cost just gets passed down the line to the consumer. However, saying the consumer pays the tariff implies that they only hurt the consumer... and that is completely inaccurate, as if it doesn't impact China at all, when the truth is that it does. People that say that either don't really know how this works, and/or, they're trying to push some sort of agenda to make people upset, as if this is a direct attack on consumers.
When you have orders being cancelled by American buyers and the factories aren't running with product just sitting... it's very damaging. There's a lot coming out of China showing how damaging this already is. This is absolutely going to hurt businesses in both the U.S. and China, but China to a much larger degree due to a large trade deficit. The idea is that this will in turn put pressure on the Chinese government as well as potentially bring manufacturing back to the U.S. though there needs to be incentives for companies to do that as tariffs are a poor strategy on their own to bring manufacturing jobs back, but it's going to be hard to do that when the cost of labor in China is so much lower.

The dumb down, over simplification version of tariffs. My understanding. But this is what people need to understand.
A 145% US tariff on China goods means that consumers in the US is going to pay 145% more for goods.
A 84% China tariff on US goods means that consumers in China going to pay 84% more for goods.
It does not affect governments as they work on the taxes on top of those tariffs.
So why tariffs as it hurt consumers
Tariffs function is meant to level the playing field in the countries.
eg... To make a TV in the US cost 1000 usd, in China it cost 800 usd. So a 20% tariff on china TVs would bring the China TV up to 960 usd in America, making it in line with US goods. The tariff money goes to the US government.
So what is this tariffs doing now... It makes goods made in other countries more expensive. Investigate how much stuff is made in the US and ship the China, and how much is made in China and ship to the US.
This is how it was explain to me, and I'm no expert myself.
This excludes shipping, predictive cost, eg for marketing, stock costs, storage and much more.

I hate rumors. I really do. Sure, occasionally they hit the mark even a broken clock is right twice a day. But most of the time, especially with Dekard rumors, it’s just people running around screaming NOW! and Trust me, bro! like they’re casting some kind of tech summoning spell. Then, after 87 false alarms, they finally get one thing right and suddenly everyone treats them like Nostradamus with a Wi-Fi connection.
You want to know when a new product is coming out It’s easy. Someone walks on stage, says, Here is our new [insert dramatic product name here], and boom it’s real. Until then, it’s all just background noise and hype tornadoes.

The global economy we are in now, is more than just tariffs. It's geopolitics entirely at play. If people don't understand how geopolitics works and the idea the tariffs are being implemented, then you don't know how geopolitics works. Obviously, consumers pay the increase in tariffs. Spend less on non-essentials and more on essentials. That has been a growing trend since wages have, arguably, been stagnant since 2010 in the US.
This will be an interesting video to see how businesses try to spin it and GNs nonpartisan take. I don't believe you can have a nonpartisan take. This is getting into the weed of geopolitics.

I understand the motive for staying A-political and normally I'd agree wholeheartedly with that stance. But I think the current political landscape in the U.S. almost demands the media call BS out, regardless of political bias. I think the media trying to stay a-political despite the looney tunes taking place in our government at the highest levels is what helped get us here to begin with. The media really needs to start calling that nonsense out when it is obvious it's nonsense (instead of trying to walk on eggshells in order to avoid upsetting the fragile feelings of one particular political group).

As a citizen of the US...sorry, not sorry. Its about time we hit the reset button on trade. Naturally, things made outside of the US will increase in price, so the US will be able to be competitive. We have allowed China(and other countries) to get rich by offering slave labor, and stealing any, and all IP.
You can argue the united states made their bed and should lay in it, but you can not say that the current president isnt doing everything he can for the american people, even if that means being a bully and threatening to completely destroy China's economy.

In today’s shipping landscape, the only normalcy is chaos. Diversify as much as possible, expect the unexpected. We’re seeing an abrupt decoupling of America- China in real time, and as long as Xi is in control I don’t expect China to negotiate. It takes years to establish supply chains, so for awhile there will be a higher premium paid to enjoy gaming. It’s a better option than what faces the China manufacturing worker, who is now experiencing what American factory workers experienced the last 40 years or more. Tough situation all around.

The irony of a business friendly - Neo Conservative - Free market - capitalist President who racked in mucho corpo $$ during campaign time messing up pretty much all business markets in one swoop is priceless. And the cherry on top is more than half the people you spoke wit most likely voted4 team grab em by the $ussy!. A smart business man knows that predictability is how business keep going. Uncertainty sinks ships, eventually if not right away. Don't forget, they said other countries and business pay tariffs.....Not the voters!

The tariffs will boil down to US consumers and Chinese consumers. You didn't, and can't really, find any consumers who are actually affected. The guy who said retailers can't lose money was out in the weeds. US consumers simply will buy less. And everyone, all the way back to the Chinese consumer himself, gets less.
The tariffs don't hurt US consumers. We all need to remember that most of the stuff we buy is not quite necessary. China will be reminded of this like a nail is reminded of a hammer.

Funny how computer hardware (and literally everything else) has exploded in price over the last half decade due to shortages while also dropping sharply in quality, and meanwhile companies are simultaneously making record profits (not revenue, profit) and now with the tariffs coming on they have the gall to raise prices even more claiming that it'll impact their bottom line, like their bottom line isn't already 37000 light years below their current line.

GamersNexus ISTM that the best way to handle the pricing uncertaintly, since you know it's going to be at LEAST the MSRP, is to wrap up a review with the codicil AT THE MSRP, or up to $XXX, this seems like something to get. If it ends up being higher than that, don't bother. Still allows for a range of likely outcomes but you don't have to do a whole price-bracket review. Just a thought.

I ordered something from starforge, which was marked up about 300 from the price i had looked at a week prior to the announcement of the tariffs... I ate it, because it wasn't their fault.... but it seemed... weird But not even a week after finalizing the order, they refunded me the 300 overhead. Credible to their company, they didn't have to do that. I agreed to the confirmed price.

Nvidia can't sell cards at 2.5k and make a profit. Especially when they burn out cabling.
Releasing so much free source code is a way for people to keep using Nvidia cards while the ultra intelligent tariff crap may be lifted in a few months. Then they'll have to lower prices to offset the huge back inventory that will pile up.
Company and consumer getting the screw on this one.

It's not an accusation. Steve is a leftist. So is craft computing. So is Wendell and Louis Rossman. They all voted for Kamala Harris. It's the entire tech space. So to act like this is the first time theyve heard of a tariff and that this changes everything is disingenuous. Look to an actual journalist like The Lunduke Journal for fair and balanced coverage of this topic.

I've put pressure on my supplier to lower their prices, if you actually know what you are doing in business it shouldn't affect the consumer that much. Some businesses just want keep their huge profits so are unhappy. It'll change eventually, I'm pretty sure they'll reach a deal and this will I'll all settle down.America will likely be in a much better place once it is completed.

The consumer doesn’t pay the tariff, the company importing the goods pay the tariff and only when it’s sold does the consumer end up recouping the companies money spent and n import costs. Tariffs are due upon importing, not upon sold. This does not apply to companies that keep stock of goods within the country, which most if not all retailers keep a stock in country

I saw reviews on the Asus Z13 2025. Specifically Wendell's. Was tempted into wanting one.
Didn't realize that the thing launched _two months ago_ because it was terminally out of stock.
I wouldn't be surprised if they're refusing to restock them because of the tariff situation.
Good thing I have enough hardware to weather the storm.
