Disney Reality vs. Expectations

Disney Reality vs. Expectations

Rating: 4.0; Vote: 1
Disney Reality vs. Expectations Reality is that people are going to pick 1 streaming service, onece the others fail (because lack of conveniense), the dominant streaming service will merge with some of this failed companies that tried to copy netflix, and we will have an even worse monopoly in entertainment then what we have now.
If you ask me, Disney sounds like a bad spending. They refuce to have a bast amount of content because ma family friendly image. Hulu sounds like a more reasonable spending, Disney is like the biggest streaming service targeted to children. If you have enough money to burn, to buy other streaming services with more content (that is not all Disney owned), then go ahead and pay for Hulu and Disney. But if you dont have enough money, and if you buy Disneys streaming service. Get ready to have a limited list of the same old Disney content. Lets not forget, they are moving all their R rated stuff to hulu. So expect most of their content to be there. Or have a nice day, picking between Disney or Hulu. Hell, and all the other companies that are trying to make their own streaming services.\r\n

Where Disney really blows is I have a 4K TV and all that. The only
option I have is to watch all their content in is 4K. I can't like
switch between 4k and standard definition. Or choose to watch 4K or
standard. I blew through a terabyte of data with Comcast watching
Netflix on the highest settings and got charged extra. So I turned the
settings down on Netflix and can let it go night and day with no
worries. Not really all that much difference in viewing on a 55 TV. $7
isn't a bargain if I exceed my bandwidth and have to pay Comcrap an
extra $20 or $40 bucks. BTW hold time today if you call is 3 hours lol

I certainly see why news corporations need multiple 'opponents' going against each other, but if you truly want to make to make sense of the direction premium subscription media is heading, start with the fact that there will be a few winners in the war.
Today, on average there are 3 subscriptions per streaming household. We are going to see a bunch of new players like HBO Max, Peacock, Quibi and even a service by Discovery and BBC. We are going to have multiple major streaming services, all specialising in a certain type of content, while also offering substantial evergreen, mainstream movies and shows.

Only reason I'd currently consider Disney is because I want to see what they'll do with the Loki marvel tv series. It's honestly the only thing I care about, Star Wars has lost most of its magic to me after those utterly trashy, or at best mediocre, recent sequels. HBO and Netflix has much more interesting content atm for an adult.

Am I the only that actually likes to watch shows on a weekly programming I like to dissect the show I’m watching throughout the week with my friends and not have people spoil it for me because I was busy during the weekend.
reply

I know it’s not Disney’s thing but I really wish they release R rated content. As Netflix has a kids section, Disney should have an adult section. How cool would it be to see a graphic or dark Star Wars tv show or marvel

And yet another video omitting the Nat Geo content. Is everything NG has going to be available too And does that include Cosmos (it aired on both Fox and NG) and the new season of Cosmos that has still yet to air

With no classic Wonderful World of Disney, Davey Crockett movies, Scarecrow of Romney Marsh, and Song of the South, no thanks. Was excited about it, until I saw those, and other classics will not be on the service.

If you didn’t know, Netflix’s contract with Disney sees that a large amount of phase 3 marvel movies will go back to Netflix in 2026, also all the new Disney Star Wars so far with them.
reply

At around 2:52 you say you’re putting a list of movies that will be missing from the service, but the list on screen claims to be the movies that WILL be available at launch. Which is it

I'm most excited I locked in at the D23 deal for three years at less than $4/month... oh yeah and all the stuff for my 3 year old..... Ah, TV parent my child.
reply

They are still having issues and still high on downdetector and it's been a week. To top that, now they are having security hacks. Not a good way to launch.
reply

So this is how independently created media dies...... To thunderous applause...... Screw u Disney ! I will never buy your service E V E R
reply

i think the original content is what i’m most excited for on disney plus! the high school musical mockumentary show looks hilarious
reply

I just hope and pray the que and layout is simple. Hulu, for example, repeatedly freezes and stops, which I hope Disney does not do.
reply

Still think D is gonna be awesome. And it will just get better. If they can keep 4kHDR at $7/mo for a while, I'll be pretty stoked.
reply

So basically all we have to do is wait 6 months and then see if it better or not and only then decide if to go for it or not..
reply

If new stuff gets released weekly then I hope the simpsons are out on day one so I can hold off on the wait of some Disney movies

Disney won’t be on amazon devices but it will be on smart tv’s...read before you start talking shit you really don’t know
reply

Next time before you even talk about something you’re not informed about do something about those gray roots growing out

It's junk now... Netflix and Amazon runs circles around Disney while waiting to watch Mandalorian all you see are circles.
