Best Streaming TV Providers Find Out Which Is Best For You I dont know about the rest of you, but the deal-breaker with the existing streaming TV services can be summed up in one word- COMMERCIALS! I despise them. Theyre an assault on intelligence, especially when only one ad is played over and over. When Im paying $40 per month on top of the $70 I already spend on internet, having to watch a plethora of commercials every time I want to watch a program is maddening. The fake DVR offered by streaming services is a lie. On most anything youve recorded thats worth watching, you MUST watch the commercials. If you FF over them, they stack them and make you watch them all at once in a series before your video continues! On a REAL DVR, you can FF over anything and resume watching instantly at the point you stop, without the PENALTY of having to watch a bunch of ads first. I hate to admit it, but cable seems the way to go. Nobody hates the giant bill worse than me, but I guess you get what you pay for.\r\n

You all REALLY need to do better research before publishing your videos. In regards to PS Vue their entry package is $39.99 not $45. Also, you do NOT have to be on your home network to watch your programs and they made that change about a month ago and you published this video yesterday so there isn't an excuse for that. I will also point out when you said one of the other services had the best DVR and you could only have the program for 7 days. PS Vue you have unlimited DVR that is already included and it last 28 days, to me that sounds better than 7. There are some things that I don't like about PS Vue but I think if you are going to do a comparison of services you have to do better.

Adding to this...DTVN buffers like crazy on my Roku...and it's not the Roku because all my other apps work fine...BUT I talked with customer service and they told me they're coming out with an update (within a month, supposedly...:) that will add the DVR and take care of the buffering issues...they also gave me a $10 credit for my buffering problem which I appreciated...so far their customer service has been great...hopefully, they'll fix the other issues!!!

DTVN on Roku is a terrible experience. While it steams mostly fine, there is the occasional buffering issue. What breaks it for us is the fact that the DVR is incredibly buggy and doesn't work half the time. Sometimes the recorded shows wont come up and when they do come up, sometimes it will not play it. Even occasionally happens on the fire tv. If they release a feature, it should work.

You missed the most important aspect of choosing a service. What TV will run the app.
For example.
Direct TV Now does not run (no app) for Android TV's
Sling/Playstation Vue/FUBO will not run (no app) on Samsung TV's. Number one selling TV in America.
You can get an get a external device to perhaps make one work but that defeats the purpose of having a 'smart' TV.

How come this reviews don’t mention the image quality of the streaming services I just found out DirectvNOW doesn’t even have FullHD, aka 1080P, and I found out through their customer service directly. Now I wonder, do any of these services have it And let alone talking about 4K
reply

Sling stinks, it freezes, buffers and gets glitchy. Directv now doesn’t have any issues and works great over cellular data. I had sling in 2016 and 2017 and it still has horrible glitches. These people must be paid by sling to promote them. Fake review! Propaganda!
reply

Nice review. Something you should make a point of though, especially for those streaming services that near regular cable prices, is that those prices are also month to month. No contract, cancel anytime. I think that is worth mentioning.

I really like direct tv now the DVR is in beta for direct tv now. Now yes I love being the at&t customer you get $15 dollars off of direct tv now plus you get HBO for free and data free if you are streaming it on your mobile device.
reply

Please cover how many tv I can use at the same time. I have 3 kids so I need a solution that at least i can have access to 4 tvs. My understanding is that DirectTV now only allows you to access in two at the same time.

I don’t own Sling TV and will never do. So here is the redeem code from email. Redeem your $50 in Sling TV credits for purchasing a Roku device. Sling.com/promo and enter R504KTFMRH5G. You have until April 14.

Playstation Vue is a clear winner. The guide is much better, and DVR is awesome. Their base price is $39 NOT $45. AND THERE'S NO IP RESTRICTION. I'm watching it now from my office at work. Do some research guys.
reply

You don't cover what for many is most important, number of streams. A family with 4 Tv's is much different than a home with one TV. This sounds like the review is for a single TV with one stream needed.
reply

geez, what regular cable service are you guys talking about that costs $35 a month Sure you can get satellite cable but that is only a promotional price that will end at some point a contract.

DirectvNow has updated and SUCKS BIG TIME. I would not suggest it to anyone right now. I just paid for a month and oh i wish they had done the update beforehand. I would not have paid. Its AWFUL

Here is a novel idea, how about buying an directional 150 mile antenna and not pay anything weeeee! Also go to college or read a few books so you can be the smartest dude on your block.
reply

You guys need to do better research, PlayStation Vue starts at 39.99 has 5 streams better dvr than anyone you can keep for 28 days, your review did not do a good comparison at all.
reply

Sling doesn't show important games, for example the FIFA world cup game Argentina v France they didn't have it available, and i had orangeblue.
reply

Psvue has UNLIMITED DVR you can record whole series of shows and never expires. Y'all left that out. PSVue deserves more credit.
reply

The way they talk about money is so funny. They are out of touch with the majority. It's just $20 a month ..... Ha...just $20 aye
reply

Sling tv is trash. I can’t even watch one quarter of an nba game without unbearable buffering even with top notch wi-fi
reply

The new DIRECTV Now version has been released! I think most will be pleased with the new look and DVR (I know FINALLY!!!).
reply

you talk about this like Sling provides internet service for you, Streaming people are paying 2 Different things for TV.
reply

The directv now beta is great. 3 streams and cloud dvr. Should be out end of April, that's when the beta expires.
reply
