What about NORMAL window managers instead of tiling ones? I just want a normal WM with a powerful panel app like kicker KDE 3. 5 used to be. KDE4 and KDE5 suck because they are bloated and still don't have what KDE 3. 5 had. Also, I have about 20 different desktops and I need thumbnails in my desktop switcher/pager. I don't see what anywhere. I guess most people don't have a lot of stuff open like I do. It's 2019 and I still don't see any options.

-DistroTube I used i3 and I can't recommend it. It also tiles pop-up windpws which usualy only have -OK- and -CANCEL- buttons to full screen. Is this a problem with all the other tiling window managers too? Does anyone know of any that don't do this?

I'm currently on i3 but considering to switch to something less popular, maybe even a floating wm like openbox or 2bwm! I'd however give my vote to bspwm because that would be my next choice if I stayed in the tiling world

before making any decisions try www. larbs. xyz. its a script wich will install i3 on a fresh archlinux install with Lukes rice. you should really at least try it!
