That's really cool! I was often wondering what is it that you have running on your background laptop. I think at some point you mentioned cmatrix and I checked it out. Really cool, now I will check out unimatrix as well.
One might actually fool people to believe that it's a Linux virus - I wonder can it be used as a screensaver though. Would be really nice, especially on a laptop :)

Ok, am I the only n00b who just sees little rectangles where the Japanese characters should be? I've looked all over for the katakana font mentioned in the project's readme file, and can't seem to find it. Anyone know how I could install that? It doesn't appear to be in the AUR, and it's not installed by default in Antergos...

Years ago I used glmatrix inside xscreensaver package, first of all because I love 'fluidballs' Screensaver. And I'm very pleased to found glmatrix as cool alternative of xmatrix (obviously Screensaver).
I never know the possibility to have a matrix - like style on terminal --

I was a happy Gentoo user when all the hell broke loose and the fell of Gentoo from grace begun, that traumatized me for life, and made me hate python. Also I prefer Lisp, Haskell, Rackett, Erlang, Curry, Mozart, Mercury over python, they are better languages than python is.

I recommend editing the -unimatrix.py- file after downloading it, the default speed is 85 and bumping that up to 93 made it better for me, the code was around the 190th line. This way I don't have to adjust to speed every time I run the script.

Having a bit of trouble getting Unimatrix to run in URXVT. I've installed oft-ipafont to display katakana, but it's still displaying a TON of squares/boxes instead of displaying characters properly. Has anyone else solved this issue? :/

2:07 I'm a Trekkie too, but I'd prefer Vulcan over Klingon.
5:47 I wouldn't be too sure about that. I could be wrong, but some of the characters that appear when you run this command, definitely look like Klingon to me.

I always have cmatrix on my second screen while watching anime or tv shows, i wanted katakana maybe even hiragana letters to make it look more authentic so this is a great option thanks.

I tried to get the terminal to run -unimatrix -w- with a .bashrc file, but I might be saving it wrong. Any tips? I-m still new to this but I-m using Vim to save the file.
