You said you'll be 42 in some months.
I'm here nearing 20 and just gazing at the things that remain the same, the things that you think -grow up- but really they just go with you until you decide
Emotions, jealousy, the same level of reasoning, feelings, worries and your happy expression
They go on with you.
I worry about -growing up- a lot and all the -youth- I'd lose in what will appear to me seconds of when (and if) I reach that age and how I'll change and how hard it'll be to make friends and the 'serious' world I'll join.
The truth appears that no, you still be happy you still go to the gym you may lose friends you may make new ones, time will go faster for you but that's because while your face grows wrinkles your heart remains beautifully alive
And quite honestly being interested in something only -older people- master and doing it myself such as programming, learning morr in-depth linux and even maths. That brings me and the older ones who love it on the same level : I don't have to respect you extra because you're older I can talk to you like a friend and say ---- you while laughing because you'd know it's a way of talking and..

Alot of us have similar stories. I'm 46 and 5'7. A few years ago, my weight sat at a little over 200lbs.
Like you, I also began to have health problems associated with the excess weight. So I started going to the gym almost daily. Started simple and worked my way up using a workout app.
Today, I am also at about 180. The health problems have vanished, and I'm able to do all sorts of things I thought I was too old to do.
You're right that, at our age, taking care of yourself is super important. If you don't, years of health problems and pain are in store.
Thanks for the inspiration to keep going. And good job on the heavy weights you're able to move.

Thanks for posting this. I'm less than a year older than you, and I can definitely start to feel things going, and I really need to get into a workout routine. I needed this bit of inspiration, and your point of treating it like work (-you don't want to do it, but you've got to do it.-) is a great one.

I couldn't be first this time cause I was doing some gym at home too XD. I have to say I thought the video was going to be about some routine assistant software for terminal or something like that, not joking, lol.
Why is that gym so empty?

Have you considered plant based diet? It's very easy to maintain your preferred body weight with it. It's also rich with fiber which is very good for health. Highly recommended by me and health professionals.

Weights and BJJ is where it's at for me. I've been doing it for years now and it's hard to see myself not lifting weights or trying to fold peoples clothes while they're still in them.

Squat and dead lifting, there is nothing that boosts your testosterone levels more. And better hormone levels are one of the most important things that a man can get from working out.

Good job man I feel like it's easy for alot of us to spend most of our days sitting at work just to go home and sit at a computer. Keep it up man!

Anytime fitness, I recognize the colors. Member myself. I go at least 5 days a week. And those back problems I know all about, fractured L2.

Consider investing a powerrack and a bar and some plates if you have a garage. That way you can squeeze in a work out whenever you want.
