The thing about Deepin is not the fact it's chinese, at least for me. The real concerne is that's chinese, and -have permission- of the government to operate, what means government trust them enought, and if they trust, it's because they have full control, if needed. If was something developed by banished chineses dudes or something like that, would be way more trustable for sure.

i think the generic naming is to be simpler for the less computer-inclined. For example, -Edge-, -Chrome-, -Brave-, -Tor-, -Safari-, are all great examples of names that give you no indication of what they do. Names like -Browser- (or -Internet Explorer-) are much more specific in telling you what their function is

Perhaps the basic program naming, (-Browser-, -Mail- etc.) is for the non-technical user. I know my dad, for example, would find it easier to find his web browser if it was called -browser- rather than -Firefox- (for example) - to him the word -Firefox- means nothing whereas -Browser- tells him what it is. Just a thought.

Don't know if you will get the message but in a lot of Desktop Manager, when they use generic name for application in the menu, you can just right click on the launch menu icon, properties and choose to use the real application names. I hate that too :) Cheers ! (Love your videos)

Deepin is Chinesse Gov subsidized project. Simply - a spyware.
One and only linux distributive asking to aggree to terms of conditions from user before installing it. When you hear : Chinesse - this only should be enough to avoid it.

After watching this I did a little research on Deepin. I would not even think about installing it as it is a Chinese distro, and I would not trust anything from China installed on my computer or cell phone. I will stick with Linux Mint.

I feel like they went with those names so that everything isn-t named -Deepin X,- which would make everything show up under certain search results. They also probably didn-t feel like coming up with a name for all of their apps.

I have no problem with my (modded) Windows at all rn. But y'know I'm finding a distro that behave differently non-Windows (also non-apple) like distro which I can't seem to find. Is there any distro that you can recommend?

last time i install deepin and try istall chrome not working evrytime i open chrome the bage go to white and i cant browse the wep even firefox in chainese language i want try this maybe it fix on deepin 20.2
