Setting Up The Mu4e Email Client In Doom Emacs DistroTube Do you use Emacs? Do you also use a desktop email client like Thunderbird or Geary? There is no need to run those desktop email clients when Emacs has a great email client available. That email client is called mu4e. NOTE: When I did the git clone of my dotfiles repo and copied over my .doom.d configs, my Doom configs didn't want to work properly initially, because my Doom configs expect the following packages to be installed. So if you choose to use my Doom configs, make sure to install these! - ttf-ubuntu-font-family - nerd-fonts-mononoki (AUR) - fish - https://github.com/hlissner/doom-emacs - Doom Emacs - https://www.djcbsoftware.nl/code/mu/mu4e.html - Mu4e - https://gitlab.com/dwt1/dotfiles - DT's dotfiles repo - https://www.reddit.com/r/emacs/comments/bfsck6/mu4e_for_dummies/ - https://www.reddit.com/r/emacs/comments/8q84dl/tip_how_to_easily_manage_your_emails_with_mu4e/

Hey DT just to let you know there is a really big PR for the mu4e module coming in sometime soon. It improves the functionality of org-msg (writing mail in org-mode) and the looks and the readability (it also adds in the option for more functionality such as delayed email sending and a bunch of other stuff.) It's pretty cool!
PS. You seem to have required a couple of librarys. That will have a negative impact on startup doom provides a bunch of helper macros in its docs.

I quite honestly have not understood how to have multiple smtp servers for multiple accounts in the mu4e settings in the config.el. Have I missed it in the video or was it not mentioned? Multiple IMAP Accounts were explained quite well and I could probably figure out how to include them in the mu4e config. I wanted to get into mu4e for quite some time now but I never found good resource on how to do just that, which is a hard requirement for me.

Hey Derek!
I remember you mentioning having an interest in audio equipment and production a while back when asked why you needed all that equipment, and I was wondering, would you at some point do a video on open-source audio production and take a look at some of the DAWs such as Ardour, LMMS and obviously Audacity?
Cheers and keep up the good work!

Great tutorial to get started, as usual.
You might also have a look at gnus, which is original tailored to NN (NetNews), which means handling lots of messages in a efficient way. I was quite quickly tailored with back end for many different protocols, not only NN, but different mail protocols and other ways to handle lots of messages.

Sorry, but configuration to mu4e in your pesonal configuration seems to be removed. You seem to not use it anymore. Can you use a permalink so that your removal doesn't affect the usability of this video? 2nd can you pleas make a video on why you don't use it anymore?

Hi DT - are you planning to release more videos about DOOM emacs in the future? I grow up to the decision that I will make a switch in to it. An explanation about every function/variable in this edition is greatly appreaciated ! thank you !

Hey DT, could you do a video on -translating- emacs package manuals from vanilla emacs to doom emacs? Maybe for something like emms, where the vanilla documentation is good but there-s non for doom.

Thank you for the helpful video. For all the helpful Doom Emacs videos, in fact. I'm coming late to this one, and I can't find the mu4e section of your emacs.d dotfile on gitlab. Am I somehow missing it?

Hey DT, after reintaling doomemacs and following you tuto i cannot open mu4e from SPC + o + m (Open Mu4e), do you know how to manually add to that menu?

Would love to see you get an Office365 e-mail account with oauth2 2FA working with Mu4e (or mutt)... Wish I didn't have to use O365, but work e-mail uses it.
