Tax accountant here, I was wondering when this would make it on your radar: The IRS already requires an ID. me account to reject or amend a refund. I ran into this last year when I tried to stop my personal child tax credit payments (as I do not legal qualify. There is no other way to reject funds from the US treasury now if you receive them direct deposit, unless you set up an ID. me account.
This is some next level Orwellian crap.
It is a straight up face scan, the directions noted that you would have to turn your head, similarly to how you set up an iPhone face recognition.

As a veteran, I had to do this. I don-t really mind though as it-s a flag to be planted like Krebs said. As a victim of identity theft - I HATE thieves. It-s weird that we live in a world where you have to prove you-re you to such an extent. Sadly, I-m pretty sure the slippery slope will happen though - gattaca style DNA proofing.
Btw, love these shows. Keep up the great work.

So you're saying, the cop will send me a ticket instead of pulling me over, but then how do i even know the cop was there and wasn't just randomly deciding to send me a warning and or ticket. And if they're not pulling people over, are they then still on the road or are they taking my vehicle that apparently is selling my out all of a sudden after ask if for for that tish. lol

19: 00 Officers have been recorded saying all kinds of questionable things over the radio waves, like LAPD heli operaters joking about fuel dumping on a crowd of protestors. Public monitoring of emergency comms is a right and rarely infringes on privacy - which is why it pisses me off that's how they marketed it in my area.
It's a downgrade.

Same for social security. Same for other government agencies. They want you to use ID Me. You take a picture. Tge picture is never clear enough they claim. You keep taking perfectly clear picture and then they want to charge you. Same with taking picture of your license. The picture is never good enough. They claim.

Any thoughts on Proctorio? I was forced to use this program to not fail on my exams as it had to be taken online. I see no reason to give access to my computer safety settings and desktop control for this program just to have an exam taken. It also control webcam, microphone and much more.

There is way too much money in advertising and data harvesting, no way it passes. Unfortunately a lot of these law proposals end up being virtue signaling with no real effort behind them. Allows politicians (on both sides) to pat themselves on the back and say -I tried, oh well-.

14: 40 -App Tracking Transparency doesn't function how we all assume! -
The prompt opts you in or out of -Apple's own- advertising network. If you say no, they simply can't use apple's system and can substitute it for others.

A free and open source show idea for y'all: weekly or monthly or w/e, bring on a web/app dev or a CEO of company or something (privacy based & FOSS of course) to talk about their upcoming or new apps and just chat.

Hey Nathan, could you make an update video to the -best browsers-. It's been long since you uploaded any browser related video. Making a video on best extensions for privacy too will be good.
Love your content.
