Absolute Core Clock in T-Rex Miner is LEGIT (How to lock core clock and lower wattage) - Sebs FinTech I go over this amazing new feature in T-Rex miner that lets you lock the core clock of your GPUs to a specific frequency. This leads to much lower power consumption, in my case almost a 20% reduction in wattage without reducing hashrate. Using absolute core clock in a crypto mining software like Trex miner is a new and better way of overclocking your graphics cards that leads to much lower electricity being used which means cheaper power bills!

I'm feeling desperate here. No matter what settings i do for my stack of 3080ti Strix, I get 100+ MClock degrees on ANY NEW MINER (GMiner 2.71, Trex 0.24.7, NbMiner 39.6 etc.). I'm stuck with GMiner 2.7 which offers me 90 Mclock degrees & 82 Mh/s. I've tried locking on heavy underclocking (1100, 1200, 1300 Mhz) but nothing happened. Some advice would be much appreciated!

This is amazing... I actually GAINED Mh by doing this! I run a single 1660S in my gaming rig, and it went from 29.6 Mh at 88W and 71 degrees C .. to 30.6 Mh at 68W and 58 degrees C!! My hashrate doesnt jump around as much as it did before, and the whole thing seems more stable now... LOCK THAT CORE!

Where did you get that numbers from(5:45)?
My 3060Ti with clock locked to 1300-1350 is going down with hashrate to about 57, but with clock locked to 1400 it's back to 61+
So I guess those are just suggested values, or they shouldn't be exceeded?
Of course Ws are going down in every case :)

Hey Seb, forgive me if this was already asked, but did the software reflect the change in wattage on each card as well? I know software outputs arent 100% accurate, but I was curious if there was a way to check it without a wattage reader. (I just ordered one but wanted to test the lower watts).

I have two systems that I could put them on like this but there is one that for some reason I can't, the same type of mother board also the same windows, I don't know what happens I would very much like to be able to do that too, some idea that it can be.
Thanks in advance,
Best regards

Gigabye Eagle 3080 Ti LHR. I added this in my bat file --lock -cclock 1100 --mclock 1350. Power drop from 300W to below 275W with no reduction in hashrate between 81-88 Mhz, most over 84MHz. GPU temp drop from 67 to 62. VRAM drop to 80C from around 86C. Thank you very much Sebs.

All this does it lock to the voltage related to the core clock you have chosen.
You can do it in msi afterburner much easier by pressing ctrl+f to open core/voltage curve, click on voltage point, ctrl+l to lock. Much easier than messing around with notepads I think

Thanks! This video finally helped me get the core clock locked with t-rex miner. I didn't realize I had to use the full path for t-rex.exe and learned about ctrl-c to exit as well. Now this saves me a step with having to open MSI afterburner after time I want to start mining.

Have been watching your videos and learning about mining since couple of months. Have been going well and using hiveos with trex dual mining(eth+alt) for my rtx 3080s and rtx 3060ti. Any suggestions on how I can use lock core clock feature and lower by watts? Thanks

Hey im your fan. When I start the copy version of ethermine, it says trex.exe is not recognised as an internal or external command.
Press any key to continue
Help me out, it is not working on my PC, is it location error or something else
