2) m4v (a type of mp4) is my new favorite format. Smaller file sizes, great quality, and way faster encodes.
Example - Had a full season of Hawaii Five 0 720p web dl's 34gb's for the season. Chose two pass with 720x400 anamorphic, 1300 kbps bit rate, and m4v. It only took an average of 50 minutes per episode, and gave me IDENTICAL quality with a whopping 50% size reduction! Did two comparison encodes. Both with Constant Quality and one having mp4 and the other mkv. Reduction size on both was only 10-15% and a single episode took over four hours.

(update): Ok so unfortunately I am unable to import videos recorded with Action! under AVI format. But..with MP4, it loaded up correctly. The bad thing is that while on MP4, your video size goes to 720p and not 1080p..unless thats just a trial thing? cause i am still using the trial so..then again i dont think mp4 plays at 1080p? ill do some research on that..(bump) Anyways, at least i am able to convert..just not the ones that I had already made on AVI :/

I am having issues uploading it into the program. I did everything you explained in the video and when the file is done scanning at 100%, it keeps telling me ''You must first scan a source'' when I already did and it shows the title name, but it doesnt show the title, angle, chapters and duration. Is this happening to anyone else? I even tried several videos large and small size and same results.

Pajno, i have a question. I use fraps to record my gaming with. And sony vegas pro to render. And with my rendered videos come out ALOT bigger than yours. My latest video was 6 minutes FULL HD and was like.. 40gb's big. how do you get your's to 2ish gb?
Also, i tried your setting for rendering in sony vegas. And tbh. The quality gets madly bad compared to when i record in 1080p AVI file

I recorded my clips with mirillis action and when I try to add them to sony vegas I don't have audio in that clip, even if I convert it with virtual dub audio>full processing mode , video > direct stream copy , it still don't have audio in sony vegas (in vlc and windows media player and the other like that there is sound).

The Advanced tab is now gone, however, if you do the rest of the settings and just skip that last one in the advanced tab it totally works! Took a video from 400MB to 97MB. That's lower than the original which makes me super happy! Thank you for the tutorial! Keep up the great works cause this is 5 years later and it still applies!

Your title is misleading at best. There is loss in quality when you don't compress it lossless. Just a simple example of you losing quality is you selecting 256kbps ACC for the audio quality. That's a lossy format, so it won't be lessless. In other words, you will lose quality.

PANJNO PLS ANSWER!!!!!
so when i choose a file, the title of it shows up on the top of the program, under the source button, but when i click start it doesnt work, it says: Please select a source first, but i already selected it, pls help!

Dude I also had a lot of trouble with that :D
The problem is caused by Widows Media Player!!! Try VLC or any other..
You can just upload the videos to YT, doesnt matter which player youve chosen :)

Oh my GOD! From a 10gb video, down to 50mb??? Are you kidding me? And virtually no quality loss at all! Like nothing! It's as exactly the same as the source! Mindblown...
