It's true that online voting won't happen - not just because systems themselves don't permit it - but because people themselves try to break the systems. This problem can only be solved at a social level. And that's literally what politics is for. When we solve this problem at a social level, then voting won't be a thing. We'll have a decentralized system then.
So in short, online voting will never be a thing.

Covid is just another seasonal flu. It's all propaganda, with a survival rate of about 99. 98%. Just like a flu. Open your eyes. Despite the media reports, there are no hospitals overwhelmed by patients, and no bodies being taken out of homes from a -pandemic-. If you disagree, you should consider yourself guilty of spreading the flu because you didn't wear a mask, every winter, your whole life up to 2020.

I am not convinced confidentiality and privacy is needed for most of us-a brief look at social media interactions would be enough to determine who I vote for even if I was trying to ever hide it. I think privacy and confidentiality boat has sailed long time ago-. we know that gathered data was abused and voters were micro targeted with pressure point specific ads already.

Very nice, we basically had online voting in Russia this month through the government service website. Don't know how much privacy is a concern, since that website never functioned properly even to do basic things. Yeah, and basically all you needed is your phone number and password

About the specialized voting systems. How would one prevent the updates from being compromised? And how would someone prevent class disparity among voters affecting who can get one of the devices? -Charlie

The question is, why are you even voting? it has been made clear that your owners see you nothing more than wage-slave tax chattle cannon fodder. Why vote for that system that enslaves you?

Keep in mind: there were ballot counting machines used during the 2020 election, and those have the same exact problem as every other medium of electronic voting.

Also, there's watchers, police, and other people to make sure someone's not looking over your shoulder threatening you as you vote, this system doesn't have that.

You can take photos of your voting. I've done this every time.
Will never be stopped in my State.
A lot of this video is inapplicable to some states.

Maybe through the use of a blockchain ETH based smart contract, where voters use a token to vote? Possibly when ICP or similar are explored and backtested.
