Okay I definitely understand where you are coming from with this video but this video is certainly for the average consumer yes I hate that the average consumer feels that they need to upgrade to the newest thing for no reason but when it comes to people like me which there are thousands of us out there we are True Tech Geeks who like to push the limits of what mobile capability can accomplish for example dolphin is a Wii and GameCube emulator I have been testing it with the Snapdragon 835 and 845. YouTube reviewers on gaming are always testing games that pretty much work on any device in the last 3 years but no one does true emulator tests and dolphin is no slacker and requires a lot of power the Snapdragon 845 is the least you would want to have when tackling the Dolphin Emulator Snapdragon 835 is the least you want to have when tacklung the PSP emulator. And while we are on the subject emulators let's talk about the storage requirements thank you games are about 4 and 1/2 gigs per file and we games are about 7 to 8 gigs per file. Want to have a true inventory as a gamer you would most likely exhaust 200 to 300 gigs on emulation alone.
I also use my Android for video blogging I set it up with a tripod and a very good level ear lapel mic. I just think making this sort of video is what discourages companies from pushing the envelope because they feel like no one needs this but there are people out there like us the True Tech Geeks Who really want and need these features who need and want more power need and want more storage to accomplish the things that we want to accomplish and the more powerful these chips become the better the gaming quality because let's face it at this point Android is a true gaming console have you seen darkness rises have you seen oceanhorn 2 these games are easily console quality PS3 like games so I don't know I would say sure for the average consumer they shouldn't go high-end but I definitely don't think this video should be made so general for everyone like we are just wasting our money on something that we don't benefit from

I go for the cheapest of cheap phones - been using a Huawei P8 Lite for almost 2 years now. Paid like 180 Euros back then. Yeah, it's not the fastest phone with the most amazing camera, doesn't have wireless charging and no fingerprint scanner and what have you - but I don't need all that shit. It is perfectly fine for things I actually use my phone for: text messaging, calling people, google maps, youtube, scheduling, playing music, occasional web browsing on the go. The only real issue I have with my particular phone is that it doesn't do 5 ghz wifi-which is why I will probably replace it in a couple of months, currently looking at the P10 lite. By the time I pull the trigger on that I expect it to be around 150 Euros.

Or instead of getting a crappy step down model, get last year's flagship, my parents just got LG G6's on a 0$ plan for like 45-50$ CAD a month. Also the talk about the smartphones being slippery, most people use cases and screen protectors, I've had my lg g5 fall out of my pocket many times but the only damage is to the case and screen protector. This is something I don't like about phone reviewers, since they post their review before or on launch they don't use the phone with a case like a normal person.

Interesting, I've just sold my Pixel 2 and got a used iPhone SE 64GB for $130. It's actually quite refreshing to try iOS (I haven't used it since iPhone 3GS days, and I'm surprised by how smooth it runs because of iOS 12 (people say 30% performance boost on old phones, they are not lying. The repairability of the phone is amazing too, you can get a new screen/battery for $12 on ebay/aliexpress. You can even buy a new housing for $10, now you can rock your phone naked without worrying lol

I still use my LG G2 that I bought 5 years ago and I have the money to buy any flagship I want. I don't care about the new phones, they do the same stuff my LG G2 does - make calls, browse the internet, check and send mail, take the occasional photo/video etc. Not going to change it for any other phone unless it breaks and judging by how long it has lasted me so far (with zero repairs on it, mind you) I'm not holding my breath.

I used to have a very old LG phone so when my friend got a pixel she gave me her old HTC M8, the battery was already crappy and when it was shutting down at 70% i ordered a new one for 8- from aliexpress, now it functions like new apart from a couple scratches on the plastic corners. It still runs the latest games and is fast af. I've dropped it a dozen times with zero issues. Probably the biggest value item in my life.

No, Michael, that's what YOU use phones for. Not -we-. -We- also use them for taking photos, and editing them, and processing, and streaming. -We- don't just use them for surfing social media and browsing the web. -We- also use them for navigation, and if you've tried using Waze or G-Maps on an older device, you'd know how much it lags. And you don't want that when driving.

everyone saying that he needs a bigger display for watching media and browsing the internet and other stuff and after a while they buy a tablet for the same reasons! I mean they are just phones make smaller ones could you, we are in the era of the Nano technology and everyone want massive things, they can't even grab it -

Bought a Nokia 7 plus when I broke my iPhone 8 plus. The idea was that I would get it fixed at a convenient time and use the Nokia in the meantime. Guess what. The iPhone is still in the kitchen draw broken and I'm more then happy with the Nokia. You don't need a flagship. It's a myth. Or your just vein and shallow-
