Join Hayden, Brad, and Adam as they check out Metro Exodus running on an RTX 2080 Ti and Core i9-9900k. Along with discussions on the game and the controversy around the Epic Store, we also dive deep into the gameplay ramifications of having global illumination (ray tracing) on versus off in such a dark game

Too dark. that's what gamma settings are for, have you tried? It seems as dark with the RTX off, and you can see some of the objects better but it's thanks to artefacts so I'm not sure it's really positive. Anyway, perhaps the RTX will be more mature and more affordable when the game releases without the current launcher, and is rid of this obnoxious and hindering DRM.
Achievements? Who cares about that, it's mostly a nuisance with messages to check all the time. To me, the game matters but the clutter does not, it's just stuff that gets in the way. But I'd rather have one Steam and its achievements and other unnecessary features than several proprietary launchers.

It's all blur, bloom and mediocre textures. The environment looks depressive and wearing your gas mask or using night vision makes it worse. And the ray tracing is not impressing at all. In my opinion phys-x was a way more exiting feature. Seeing something blew up in a thousand pieces was way more impressive than some shiny puddles of water. Developers should go back to basics, photo realistic textures on high polygon objects. Ray tracing is not worth the money, it's a step to little in progress. And the prices of video cards are a hoax today anyway. Considering Nvidia's sales numbers lately I am not the only one who thinks so.

I wish you had shown more scenes with RTX on and off. If it just makes things darker, then I can just turn the brightness down on my 1080Ti and get the same experience. Does it make the outdoor scenes look any better at all? Also, it is kind of crappy that choosing raytracing on means a different difficulty level in effect. You might want the same difficulty level, but just better graphics. The example with the bookcase looked less realistic to me, the objects stopped picking up specular highlights with raytrace on.

Competition is good for gamer's, so bring it on. I bought this game yesterday from epic and I have been downloading it for 3 hours today now. I have never had this problem when I get a game from Steam. But I do like it that is was $50 bucks instead of $60. Steam needs to compete. Only being able to run this on 1080p with RTX is the biggest problem here. I don't even have a high refresh rate monitor that is 1080p.

that ray tracing working great, The light itself become even realistic n Useful when it comes to certain area, gave the gameplay a suitable environment for using the night vision goggle But Sadly it wasn't perfect enough, Im just gonna wait for the real One in YEAR 203x.
RAY TRACING are SOME HARDCORE SHIT.

Not worth $1200+ for the 2080 Ti just for this RTX gimmick. Or better yet, GameWorks 5. 0. I imagine the next run of Nvidia RTX cards will be even more absurd as if many could afford this gen of RTX cards. They aren't even selling well this gen.

what u cant see is the stark difference between my 'HDR' and the non 'HDR' recording in 4k. at this stage. in this game, it is not possible to record the game in 'HDR' 4k. ffs, i would be uploading th thing and then u would see how great it looks.

Wat the hell is wrong with this game? I'm using RTX 2080 Overclocked at 2000 MHz, Ryzen 7 2700X -4. 32 GHz and I get 30-40 fps in some environments even with Ray Tracing off. I mean seriously I spent $900 alone on the GPU -

I like it how they think people will judge them if they don-t activate windows, I think 90% of pc gamers here haven-t even paid for windows(cough- me cough-)
