I will disagree animation is for children, certainly there is a portion of it made for that audience, however saying something like Berserk or Hellsing is for kids is wildly misunderstanding the market. VR we need a headset that is $400 standalone inside/outside tracking that is standalone, but is also able to stream from a PC higher end content, we live in a world now where you can get a six core 1050ti/1060/ soon to be 2060 for under $1200 with massive graphical potential or you can build a monster us regular PC, the knuckles controllers are going a long way but we need real games and experiences, social media can easily be implemented like we have seen in something like ghost in the shell with avatars or virtual FaceTime like applications. Honestly it's not hard just no one has bothered yet because the revenue stream just isn't defined enough, and to be honest Microsoft can be a large portion of the problem, we need a proper OS that is VR based and can handle input devices, and other forms of hardware natively moving forward. if anybody is at Microsoft, I'm up for the job I will gladly ensure proper revenue streams and a design UI that just works for individuals as well as creates a proper ecosystem for Enterprise as well as the home users. /wink wink.

Gordon is right about the PC. I put it this way: The PC is like your own car in a race. You can choose your hardware and by configuring it the right way you can have an amazing gaming experience. On the Apple topic: Sure, they can switch to ARM processors, they did the same thing before with X86, BUT it was Steve Jobs who managed it and they have serious problems to follow in his footstepps. On the Microsoft topic: Yes, Microsoft is a big money machine like all the other corporations. But there is a difference. Whatever they do, the got criticized even by their own core customers. So they are forced to addapt to the needs of the customers, the companies and the public. Apple used to be a kind of a religion to their fans and they now are seemingly losing this nimbus little by little. For Microsoft on the other hand it was never that way. Except the x-box probably, but this is another story.

At 3: 09 I was surprised to hear Adam talking, since he wasn't mentioned in the title. - To be fair this, was before the show officially started and introductions made. Edit: and in previous episodes with Gordon and a special guest, it was just the two of them. -

VR is going down because it didn't explosively evolve into the VR experience we're hoping for. VR right now is just having a display stuck to your face while you play indie games-that's not what we're looking for when we think of Virtual Reality gaming.

I bring WMR and a laptop with me on a plane, so yay! it's portable. It's less demanding on the PC than the Vive. But there's no substitute for the tracking (and full body tracking support) on the Vive and a tower computer.

Nobody wants to strap a headset to their face to use something, playing games, watching a video, etc. it isn't convenient. I dont think VR will ever explode into mainstream use the way smartphones have.

I try to watch every week even if I don-t catch you guys live. I-d have to say that this episode was good for 85% of the time but your guest really ruined the Q&A with his terrible -dad jokes-.

We already had a full body tracker for VR it was called Microsoft Kinect, the fact they never marketed it for VR blows my mind. Then again they have proven idiocy before.

VR is not dead but I think it's still a work in progress and may be stuck in a high-end regime you need the space to have it but it's not going away. too many possibilities.
