Guy funny? If you uncomfortable you just don-t buy. For tech person it not a big problem, there always other ways to go around update software. But still he not a tech guy so it hard for him.
Huawei will solve smartphone issue first as that their main business beside hardware and their R&D. Laptop not their core business but they should be using huawei self develop OS for both smartphone and laptop in near future.
I do expect their new OS ready by this year, but for it to optimize to full potential you should expect by next year. Huawei do wish continue with google and Microsoft, but just so giving more time to fully test their new OS before pushing them out. If huawei succeed, can expect google and Microsoft shares to drop.

This whole ban issue is nothing more than corporate bullying. Apple knows Huawei is knocking it out of the park and they are having Trump put pressure on them. If the US had real hard evidence of intential backdoor exploits in Huaweis 5G networking, then they should just put a ban on that infrastructure. Not the phones, not the laptops and not put pressure on companies not to do business with them. But the POTUS is not. He is forcing a ban on the company and has not showed ANYONE any hard evidence. I supported Trump in the election. But years of service in the military has gave be a keen sense of smell for BS.

So what if the Huawei Matebook doesn't get Windows-updates? Then you put Linux on it. For some people it would be a problem (because they MUST use Windows-exclusive software for whatever reason) but that applies to a small minority of the users, most users would be fine with it and most people would probably like it more once they get used to it.

Read the title of this video.
Now ask yourself, are you safe on any smartphone or PC you have? No, your not. Everyone's ok with Google and Apple knowing who you are, the only difference is Huawei is happens to be Chinese company that might be in cahoots with the Chinese government. Yeah well so are US companies and the US government.

I got the matebook x pro and have no regrets, the U. S already spy on us so what difference does it make. Microsoft is still going to update it, just buy the laptop. People are making it a big deal, it's one of the best laptops I ever own.
reply

Why would Huawei/Chinese government spy an individual consumer. Come on people stop wasting your time. Huawei devices are the best on the planet and they come at a mouth watering price tags too-
reply

Apple is scared about better products with fair prices. I will buy this computer and support Chinese industry no matter what Trump says.
Free market? Police state. Sad very sad.

reply

Don't buy Huawei. That's a spy company for China and they spy you on in your eyes. There are lot more completing products by US companies like Dell, why bother this piece of crap.
reply

Lmao only you americans worry about huawei, the rest of the world don't actually give a damn. If I have to choose I'll support huawei, who ofc will keep updating everything
reply

Well they went out and said they are not going through with making the new mate x so I'd back off for a little while till this blows over. If you are shopping for a laptop
