One hint why there will be problems moving forward with these cards new NVDA cards:
- Wattage
Basically what these guys are trying hard to do is to create the hardware to sell the new 4k performance gaming paradigm. Force an upgrade in everything we use these days to 4k resolutions, be them computers, monitors, tv sets.
People now have easy access to 4k TVs and can and will attach a new generation console to said tv sets and enjoy a good enough performance for years to come even if there are plenty of tricks being used so that the hardware, which isn t up to par these days and let s not even talk about ray tracing that kind of resolutions, can pretend being able to do it peacefully, which it can t.
Wattage matters. Basically you re trying to put in a small motherboard with a graphics cpu the wattage required for a small oven, small hair drier or a small ac unit.
There s a reason why such appliances don t force feed that kind of wattage through their controlling boards or units. That kind of wattage is solely used in heaters, pumps and the sort.
Refined electronics, like gaming gpus, don t like heat, humidity or large and intense currents flowing nearby. Let alone multi level circuit boards with top tech small processors. I mean, all sort of weird stuff starts to happen electromagnetically when you try to pull it off.
So the consoles they are a coming! And they will shift the gaming industry from a few weeks now on, and for the next half a decade.
What was the all powerful NVDA to do, well, pull a rabbit of their. And to first impressions they did, it might seem, but look closer and all sorts of strange things will happen.
Get some sense, pass this -new- technology being offered to you. Wait to see if AMD can do something well done and then decide.
If it all fails for the PC, the new consoles look silent as hell, very well put through and will not require an AC unit right next to them to functions properly.
If you re a PC gamer and want to stay one, one piece of advice: no one forces you to upgrade your hardware to crappy new one. Give NVDA a couple years to try again, or even better, go the AMD way, because if it suits the new consoles, the coming AMD tech can t be all that bad.

curerently playing zero down at 120 hz at 1080p but upscaled to 4k by projector and its great. i went from a pc ultra wide 1440p and haveing to stay mostly on medium settings but now i have moved to projector for none fps style games its ultra everything at 120 hz. yes im still upgrading my pc maybe ryzen new cpus as im rocking a oced 3770k and its great but when compared to builds i have done for friends with haswell 4970k i see a small framerate drop well sometimes 2-3% sometimes 15% depending on game. my 3770k is at 4. 5ghz at winter and 4. 4 at summer so not a lottery golden ocer. My 1070 amp extreme by zotac on the other hand oces amasingly. Shame the gpu powers diown automaticly. i miss proper overclocking like on my 970 g1 gamer, not a fan of the new lets lower voltage automaticly in the gpu without owner having control thing. Still i supose that helps their bining process so they can creat more catagories. 2060, 2060 spuer, 2060 ti, 1650, 1650 super, 1650 ti, exetra exetra, now i see they change the lines again making the new 3090 the flagship instead of the 3080, making the 3080 be the 3070 whilke still charging the old 3080 prices, and well thats why i feel the 3070 will be closer to 500 and 600 uk pounds, they want us to pay more. i know i am being negative but god id love a 3080, a 3090 is something even if i was rich id be angry to give nvidia the money. by way i like steve from hardware nex but dont always watch his shows. i follow you guys because you all bring something to the table and together you present a more open and constructive view. so gordon yes you rock.

3080 shouldnt be 700 uk pounds it should be closer to 500 pounds
nowing 3070 is 460 i bet theyll be closer to 550 uk pounds and thats gona suck.
as a comparison
2014 gtx 970 and i had a g1 gamer it was 300 uk pounds
2016 gtx 1070 amp extreme was 430 uk pounds. and that was one of the best oc and the very cheapest 1070, next on to that was 480 then all up to 500 uk pounds
430 was a bitter pill but i was ok with the price hike due to the extra fan and quiet mode.
buttttttttttttt
2018 rtx 2070 was advertised at 500 uk pounds but you were looking at 550 because of data mining. This is where they tried to shift the 70 series mid ranger, to a 2060 and i feel they have still kept that card inflation today. Dont get me wrong if i can get a decent zotac, assus or gigabyte 3070 for 470 uk pounds ill be yeh ok ish with that but i just know itll be 500-600 uk pounds.
NVIDIA NEEDS COMPETITION CAUSE I FEEL THEY ARE FLEESING THE PC ENTHUSIAST MARKET. IF THE 3070 WASD 300 UK POUINDS ON RELEASE ID BE BUYING ONE ASP, HELL IT THE 3080 WAS 500-600 UK POUNDS ID BUY THAT BUT 700 UK POUNDS WOW, GREAT CARD BUT OVERPRISED.
Also warning everyone, i priced the intel i9 buil with a 3800xl build and the intel build was 690 uk pounds and the amd build was 760 uk pounds same ram different motherboards but simular options and the cpu. i was shocked intel was cheaper.

At around 1: 09: 00 ish, it-s refreshing to watch the discussion about what upgrades you really need and can see tangibly in your daily gaming/computing vs. what Marketing has convinced you to buy. This is so true and yet all of us can sometimes forget (some more than others.
On the topic of console gaming, I-m happy to hear the inclusivity. Yes, everyone should enjoy what makes them happy. I myself have at one point or another been a PC gamer, console gamer, and both at the same time. It-s about the love of the games, not the platform.

The videocast was good overall, but, man the sheer ignorance coming from Brian when he tried to devalue the Ryzen 3 benchmarks when he said: -(Ashes of Singularity) it's not a real game-. It's actually a RTS franchise (not a single game. Escalation, the last iteration of the franchise, is complete game with a campaigns, multiplayer modes, tutorials. at least he could said -we need more than one game bench-. I can already see R3 beating Intel's 10th gen CPUs in many games.

I agree. Soon after the 5700X released, I waited for the card to be available for about 2 months to finish building my system. The gpu was the only pc compenent that I had not bought yet. So I lost my patience and bought a NVIDIA card. It simply doesn't make sense for these companies force potential costumers to wait for the optics of high demand.

If is some 30xx hardware problems (and is it actually), no drivers can fix that(they only can reduce frequency on memory or processor but that is all, and you in that way have a potato GPU). is same like old AMD FX 8350 hardware problems are never fixed from drivers. LOL!

Nvidia's crash issue can be duplicated while AMDs black screen cannot be duplicated by any known techtuber or tech press, most only regurgitate 3rd, 4th, and 5th hand info and heresay of it happening.

Like I said before and you guys dismissed it. They should have delayed this launch by 2-3 months. The stock problem wouldn't be as bad and this technical issue would have probably not happened.
