3060 ti is N O T the best graphics card for 1440p gaming.
Why not?
-It barely runs current triple A titles approximately - 60fps max settings and it will struggle even more with newer titles.
-the current sweet spot for gaming is 1440p 144hz to play smoothly and competitive.
Why are ppl throwing around the 3060 ti as best 1440p gaming card?
-One of the best VALUE cards giving the most fps/$. (Still not enough fps for 1440p tho)
-It just manages to play current triple A games or barely - 60fps. Don't believe me? Look up cyberpunk FPS videos on YouTube with 3060ti max settings.
-Because of its great value, it is for ppl with limited budgets for gaming. And so it is designed to appeal to that market.
Conclusion: 3060ti will NOT give u the full 1440p experience the same way a lot of tvs claim 'HDR ready' but its not real HDR. You'll get maybe 60 fps, on HIGH settings not MAX, and it won't be completely smooth in a fast paced game because it's not at the sweet spot aka: 144hz
ANSWER: A 3080 is the best card to get - 1440p 144hz MAX settings for this generation of games and the next to come. Pay the extra $300-$400 and your sh1t will be taken care of and you won't need to upgrade for years to come. It is the highest tier card where other cards above of it offer severe diminishing returns. Fyi the most in demand card of both Nvidia and AMD is the 3080. It is the most sought after card for a reason.

Not sure why no one sees the royal screwing they are continually getting from the Nvidia Corporation. The entire RTX 2000 Series was a Rip off from that company. Sales where way down because of it. To really get a feel for the current Nvidia Shenanigans, go back to 2008 and look at what the release price was for the GTX Geforce 260 ( 60 class = lower end. It started out at $399 but quickly dropped in $299 because of low sales and more importantly, competition from AMD/ATI. Asking $500 for a 60 class GPU is simply cash grabbing and it isn't okay. Pay it and you'll end up destroying the very hobby we all love, PC modding. Honestly maybe it's already to late as console sales are higher than they EVER have, and so are PC Pre-builts and it's a direct connection between Stimulus Money and these outrageous prices, the entire market has lost their minds trying to grab that money from all of those tax paying citizens. Be smarter then that, hold on to your cash, because in the end its you and I that has the power to control the market. We do that by voting with our wallets. Sadly this time around we have -Influencers- who are for a variety of reasons helping these Corporations in getting the ransom. We have to do better and connect with other hobbyists and enthusiasts not salesman who really can't relate.

The 3060 Ti is NOT good enough for an ultrawide 1440p display. The RTX 3070 can't even really keep up in demanding titles, to reach your monitor refresh rate. So anyone looking at a GPU or building your PC from the ground up - Look at the MONITOR you're buying, and then buy the graphics card that will match or beat the capabilities of that display.

I have a 2080 super and a 3600 x and I can't run cyberpunk (no ray tracing) or Valhalla on max settings and get 60 fps at 1440 p. It's fairly close usually in the 50s. Maybe tbe extra v ram in the 3060 ti would help

What about the 3060Ti on the new MSFS (FS2020, and either a 32-1440 monitor or using VR googles? Pondering one of the 3060Ti cards on my new system vs. waiting for the 3080 cards to get back in stock.

Kudos to you for saying the word -ultrawide-! Usually YouTube hardware guys and girls never say that word when talking and benchmarking video cards. So big thanks for that. Do some more in the future.

My RTx 2080 is still going strong playing most games at 1440p 100hz ultrawide on high settings. I stopped caring about ultra settings but actually started playing and enjoying the games I own

I run a 1440p Ultrawide and the 8GB of VRAM on the 3070 isn't enough for stuff like Watch Dogs and 2077 when you have DLSS on. 3080 hangs on a lot better.
