All nerd talk! I have a GTX 1070 and see no need to spend in excess of $500 bucks to replace a card that plays all the so called -New- remastered remade games exceptionally well. The recent nerds have now been fixated on -FPS- and heat which was not something old gamers like myself even thought about in past. Make no mistake. there are no -new- games on the market. They are all old games from waaayyy back in the day. CyberPunk 2077 surely taught many a lesson in fakeness.

Appreciate the tone and helpful nature of this opinion piece. Not sure why some of the other tech reviewers / influencers have started resorting to name calling of consumers when it comes to purchases they do not recommend. Might be a catering to the masses and an endless dangling of the carrot approach to let them consume content and justifying their delayed purchases (due to availability) or never actually making a purchase (due to price.

Meanwhile, most of us can only buy last gen cards (and CPUs) at new gen prices (if we can afford the upper tier products, that is. I wish media would not talk about thing that exist mostly in some virtual reality -- maybe then companies would take some care in assuring availability, instead of playing PR games with each other and their investors.
P. S. This content is still good, don't get me wrong.

AMD had a huge opportunity to crush NVIDIA on pricing but they chose -greed- instead of -common-sense-. Soon, they will be completely crushed and checkmated by NVIDIA with the RTX3060, RTX3070Ti and the RTX3080Ti because they won't have any answer for those cards.

One thing that could make the 10gb of VRAM not a big problem even -4k is RTX IO (or DirectStorage. Also, by the time VRAM limitations makes the 6800xt better than the 3080, they both will probably be closer to 30fps than 60fps -4k in those games.

I purchased the Nvidia 2080 super graphics card. Should I upgrade to a 3080 or 3090 for 4, 5 and 8k video editing, or would I be OK for a couple of years or so?

This video is pretty trash, considering all your numbers will be irrelevant by the time you can get your hands on these cards. You suck

For me its lg38gb950b 3840x1600 160hz ultrawide monitor. So its either 6900 xt or 3080 ti card. Until 2023 cards can handle 8k 120hz

Got my 3080 tuf a few days ago, coming from a 1080 ti. It is very impressive. I was finally able to snag one from Amazon at MSRP.
