The interface is better. The task bar being in the center I personally like but the presenter conveniently neglected to indicate that you can have it move to the traditional left side. They condensed the context menu when you right click to have what are likely the most used functions - but the full options are still available through using the selection 'Show more options'. To get worked up over this is silly at best.
I personally don't like widgets - they do nothing but take up resources and internet resources to provide data of relatively little value - but that's ok as you can turn off the widgets.
I personally like the enhanced virtualization - not only allowing Android apps but also Linux apps. funny how he neglected the latter. maybe it wasn't available back then.
What I don't like is the invasion of privacy of Microsoft - it's not new. always collecting information for use for diagnostics to marketing. Most of this can be turned off, which is good.
Since there are computers out there with SSD's smaller than 1 TB I don't see how that comment is valid, but maybe I'm missing something.
I'd be more concerned about making sure you have sufficient resources to upgrade. If you have 4GB RAM the performance will likely be horrible. IF you have 8 GB it might be adequate but in my view I wouldn't upgrade with less than 16GB of RAM.
Each iteration of an OS will likely require more resources than the previous - so If your system is 6 years old I probably wouldn't bother putting it on the machine unless it was a very high end machine to begin with, making it an average machine now.
Of the reasons presented I really only heard one valid one. waiting for awhile to let the initial bugs get worked out and the WIndows stability level out. It's been a few months and it's likely there. The rest was -Don't change because it's different- in of itself is, in my opinion, an invalid reason. I hate it when users say -Well, this is how we've always done it! - - well perhaps what you've always done SUCKS and there's a better way. -But that's how we've always done it. -
I'm not a big windows fan - I call Windows -A Virus with documentation- - but having said that this video really only provided one valid argument, but at least that one argument was a very good one. at the time.

As an ex senior Microsoft Certified Trainer who has taught a wide range of MS OS from W95/NT 3. 51, I could not agree more with the contents of this video. The Microsoft that I knew when Gates was in charge, in so many ways, is in a state of decline, shown so very well by its increasing stonewalling in NOT being able to get support due to fighting your way through auto-reply AI systems. Believe it or not, even with knowledge and connections it took a posted letter to Microsoft HQ UK to finally get a reply and even then, the person who rang me up was from the US and had not seen the contents of my letter. Secondly as this video states and was something my students would complain to em so often, -Why when we know our away around the desktop, functions and dialog boxes you change it all around - which seems just to be for the sake of it and they were right. It is obvious MS is trying to make an Apple clone and instead of giving what users want, keep giving them what they think we should have. I as I must have done so many times before, reviewed Windows 11 and have to say only after a few minutes did not bother to continue. Its design, proposed functionality and ease of use has not been created by dare I say 'teckies' but more for it's aesthetic GUI look, in other words 'tarted up'. So if you are thinking of upgrading, WAIT as long as you can as I truly believe MS has gone a step too far with this one and heads will roll, when the money stops coming in i. e. as happened with the big mistake Coco Cola made.

It's Christmas Day 2021 and I just ran into this video. I have to say I now have Windows 11 on my main PC & Laptop and find it to be very easy to switch to. The OS is not only faster, well at least for me but navigation isn't a mind bender either.
Truth be told, unless you are mentally challenged the switch and getting used to it seemed easy and was a breeze for me. There's a couple of things that require getting used to but I also remember the switch from and to in every version of windows have had the same challenges, should we forget Vista. This for me at least is it's by far their best OS yet. I've lost nothing, and getting around seems to be easy, all that being said, you can revert back to 10 after trying it as like all their upgrades the program creates a back up for just that reason. I have never been one to follow the heard, I will go my own path and judge for myself. My judgement is, it sure isn't for the worse, but actually in my case has been for the better. - And that's the rest of the story. - (The late Paul Harvey)

This has been a problem with all the new Windows that have come out. For me I use my desktop computer and laptop almost exclusively for entertainment. Not for business. All the extra -features- to me are pretty useless. I think the original Windows 95 and the first few original windows programs became so popular because they were so user friendly. Before Windows it was alot of Dos commands for computers which were not fun or easy and kept many people from using home computers. Windows made a simple point and click way to navigate. The keep it simple mantra, didn't stick though as windows has made there program more and more complicated and less and less user friendly over time.

Windows should always allow a certain feel and look. All cars do the same thing, but they vary in look, style, color, and performance. Operating systems should be designed the same way. Options are the way of the future in today's world not hardening down cosmetics and changing methods for the sake of change as in placing the gas pedal on the left and the brakes on the right. Unless the user wants it that way. Options. Options and more options. Windows 11 reminds me of Windows 8 which was garbage thrown over a clean Windows 7.

Windows 11 resolved a question I've been asking myself for years: -When is it time to make the jump to Apple? - Windows 11 took my home PC to Apple this winter. My Windows laptops will follow the migration as soon as Microsoft makes them feel less functional than they should be. One of the benefits of using Windows machines was OS stability over time. When you take away the familiar, incredibly practical interface, there's no reason to stay. It becomes an open question. And for photo and video processing, Apple gets my business now.

My current PC is from 2014 and does everything I need so far. I hope it will last to 2025 and then I will build a new one.
But if my employer changes to 11 it would be nice to change also so I don't need to know another OS. So basically I would be forced to replace a perfectly fine PC in a time where everybody knows we need to stop polluting. What will happen to this PC? It will go out with the trash, that's hard to digest.

We all felt uncomfortable with windows 10 when it was a latest release, people hated to switch to 10 who were already in windows 7ultimate. You'll get used to windows 11, just tolerate it for sometime like a week and then you'll be good with it. Remember we are constantly evolving creatures. Plus I love multitasking thingy.

ive never been able to navigate widows 10 let alone windows 11, its all about surveilling the masses, an i7 can process everything your doing faster and more efficiently and dont forget that it is controlling everything you see and do in real time

I can get it free now. Later I will have to pay. My concern is when they stop supporting win 10 I will be forced to get it. Yikes it does not sound good. Who knows before 2025 they may have something else. Thanks for a great review.
