i used an intel i5 for over 5 years i think and i was happy with the really good performance, but unhappy about the prizes because AMD suffer a lot in that time so no Opponent to fight for the market which means expensive Prizes.
than Ryzen came and i build a first ryzensystem for my brother and after that i created myself a 2400g system but exchanged the cpu quickly by an 2700, now i use a 5900x, my brother too my best friends also too
i think i build 25-30 AMD Builds last 3 years of all kind of Prizelevel
the simple Conclusion is:
they all where cheaper as the equivalent Intel Build
they all need less Power than the Intelopponents
they all faster on mulitthreading as intel (and to say it clear most of my building run in the company from my brother so multthgreading is a huge part there)
they are all only a few percent slower in gaming than intel or even
and most important
with that many builds i got only THREE Problems in nearly 4 Years now (one damaged Mainboard, one strange ram compatibility thing, and one bios problem directly after ryzen2 came out and was used on an older b350 Board)
compared with the 40 50 intel builds before i had less Problems with AMD as with intel.

Listen here, not all B550 are made equals hence the boards with similar feature set as the B660 boards are still SIMILAR in price, idk what are you blabbering about.

Yes there's cheaper B550s but all of them are running a 4-layer PCB and cut down features too.
If you're buying, especially a higher core count CPUs (8+ cores, surely no one in their right mine would pair it with a cheap B550 just for the sake -it can run it-.

And Ryzen with 3D v-cache on AM4 is most likely a single SKU, the 5800X3D. Only.
It makes no sense for AMD to produce more of their Zen3 chips when -literally- their Zen4 is launched already.

If you're upgrading from an older intel CPUs(before 7th gen, easily the best choice is going for Alder Lake path.
-BUT- if you're already on AM4 and 1st/2nd gen Ryzen, -and- your board getting a bios update for those new CPUs then, straight go to the retailers and get a 5000 series CPUs, don't bother looking at Alder lake.

This video can be summed to -just live in the bubble until you really feel like you're losing out-. In the end, the only real argument I could find in this video is -you don't really need that much-, which is a completely valid argument.
People tend to watch a bit too much of LTT, where he goes like -hey, today I'm building my third home NAS of the year, but this time I'll go really low budget, with a measly Threadripper 3960X and a modest $ 2k motherboard-, and have this distorted illusion that if you're not using a $ 2k machine you're left out. The truth of the matter is, my Ryzen 2700X will hold on probably fine for what's left of this decade.

This whole thing was basically hur dur it's a good thing you didn't hit the lottery because now you don't have to worry about thinking of how you should spend it! So really there is basically no reason to by Ryzen right now. If you need to build a PC right now you 100% should be buying 12th gen. It is literally all upsides. And if you really want Ryzen, you should be waiting for the 3D update or Zen 4. Right at this moment, 12th gen just gives you the best performance even from a value perspective, and the most options going forward.

5000 series was excellent. But let's be real. Right now, they're overpriced for little to no practical advantage. AMD need to slash prices, or release the next skews.
I own a 5600x, and I use it for CAD every day. Solidworks is very CPU and RAM heavy. I'm perfectly happy with it. At the time it was the best CPU I could afford. But if 12th was available 8 months ago? Wouldn't think twice. I'd be running Intel.

Really great advice for non enthusiast. But i will upgrade my 3600 for a 5600x, because my 6700xt is bottlenecked in many of my favorite games. And cpu bottleneck gives some more stuttering than just normal Gpu framedips. It is noticable when playing competitively.

I will give one reason NOT to buy Ryzen right now - PRICE. They are way overpriced from the Athlons up. The new Ryzen APU's are not worth the upgrade, 50% less L3 cache and no PCIe 4 support. Intel are faster and cheaper by far.
