we will learn the concepts of layering, coloring, and determining the gradual blur in a shadow in utmost detail. We will also learn how to match the color, the ambient light, and the direct sunlight in the new background with that of the subject. It's all a combination of Curves and Blend Modes!

You're actually insane. And I thought I was perfectionistic. I love how you suggest there's still more that could be done and I absolutely believe you. Even though this is geared towards teaching digital skills, I think it also requires an artistic eye to execute. True masterclass.

I'm sleep-deprived and it felt like I was watching Bob Ross just patiently talking about what he does on the canvas. Also, the way he just speaks and uses facial expressions feels so warming and welcoming to the viewer. Love these videos, every time a watch an old or new one.

Hello, i wanna notice 1 thing. The ribbon color on her body and her hair is too dark black, while the black color of a man on bicycle is not so black. It will be better to add Exposure/Offset/Gamma Corection, and play with that sliders to match the black color of a man on bicycle

Hi PiXimperfect, i've watched you for a long time, now this is my first time comment to you, can you show the way to match an object to a background that have difference light source? Thank you and hope to see you soon. Respect!

Arch people do not have this much time to get perfect shadows as many times we have multiple people in scene. it would be great if you should make a tutorial in which we can achieve great results in much less time. thanks.
reply

The tutorial is great, it's a little bit fast and difficult, but i'll save it and i will watch it a couple more times.
The only thing that bothers me, that this girl is standing barefoot on cigarette buds, lol: )

Thanks a lot. I think you can also add high-pass to the background to enhance the shadow detail and add dispersion to the borders of the female, the most obvious in this photo is the red dispersion

The see through shadow was not super necessary but he adds the detail anyway.
This is a sign of someone who loves quality in result.
you have my everlasting respect Sir

Just wow! As soon as I get back from vacation I'll get some photos all try all these out! It will probably take me a month to finish it but that's the learning curve, right?

She probably have very cold feet, the guy on the bike wears almost winter clothes and there are no leaves on the trees so its probably autumn or near winter.

i'd consider myself as a pro, but this my friend. is much more hardcore stuff and thanks for your hard work of bringing this lesson altogether!

I don't understand English. But through his body actions, facial expressions and products. I found him to be wonderful. Thank you, very much!
reply

dude, I feel like I could learn a lot of stuff from you. Your videos are much appreciated and hugely informative! Thank you very much!

I would have flipped the shadow vertical after distortion to have an easier time in this case, as it would have needed less drawing
reply

Be great to see you bring your techniques over to grading green screen footage in something like After Effects or Davinci Fusion
reply

You forgot the shadow you created needs to be flipped. You erased the foot because it didn't match and then drew a new leg LOL
reply

Other creators: Play music in the background and puts subs on
Umesh: Explains it like we're listening to a PS course

reply

Bro, you f up the shadow by not inverting it vertically. Drawing shadows of the legs was totally unnecessary process.
reply

Thank you very much for your tutorial! You're so didactic and passionate, I truely appreciate your work! Best wishes
