I use a lot of these techniques, though I don't really use Camera Raw much (I should, I just haven't really found a need for it). One extra thing I prefer to do is to create separate layers for the background and subject to get everything right separately, then apply affects to the whole composition to finish it up. As long as you're not doing something that makes them completely mismatch, it works very well.

Hello Umesh,
just a question: in my workflow, I open my RAW-files from Bridge zu Camera RAW and from there, I just open it without any adjustment, but as Smart Object.
Then, I create an copy of this layer as new Smart Object. That gives me the possibility to work in Camera Raw instead of using the Camera RAW filter.
What is your opinion about this workflow

I love your interview with glyn the other day it was great you had mentioned about using generative fill about the resolution that was low. You had an area where we could get that that was great. It’s so true about what you said it is not the same. Where is this I do think this is all important because I always have to go back and fix it. Thank you.

Unmesh is there a one click operation to make grids!! I'm an artist that uses 1 inch grids over my pictures to get the correct proportions when I draw them. Right now I have to tediously draw grids using the line tool, but if the picture is 90 inches by 90 inches that's a ton of work to do. Please help!!!!

Great tutorial. My question is: When you are in Camera Raw, and you pick a preset as you did, after the fact, when you go back, how do you know which preset or presets you might have used Is there some way to tell Am I missing something

Thank you so much for this thorough walk-through. It's greatly appreciated. I do have one question. Is it better to do these adjustments on a RAW image instead of a JPEG

This is amazing, I’m exhausted. No I have to go back and write to all of my clients and tell them that I want to rework their photos.
