I have installed Linux Ubuntu on my main pc for the first time. First time using Linux. Instalation went good, with some login loops, but i found the solution, and now it works ok. But main problem is that i have had Windows 10 before and used HDD and SSD (SSD for OS and HD for all other apps, documents etc.). But now i installed Ubuntu on SSD and my HDD is just hanging in computer case unused becouse i dont know how to format it and connect it. HDD is basically pluged and connected, but i need to connect it to OS, if i get it right. Does somebody have solution for me?

I honestly wouldn t mind using Linux if every Windows program just worked. I don t want to go around dealing with setting up things with like wine to hope that it will work. I use Windows because I know it and pretty much everything I use works on it. However, I can say that Ubuntu is a pretty good Linux distribution. I have used it in the past and found the OS itself pretty good. I d pick it over MacOS or Chrome OS any day. I ve just used Windows since such a young age that it has basically engrained itself into my brain with how to use it.

I recently installed ubuntu in a virtual box to test it out. There's one feature that I don't get but its probably just the virtual box. When you lock your screen, on the upper right, there's a pause button instead of a power button. When I clicked it, it looks like its shutting down but it just goes into a blank black screen. I have to reset the virtual box to makw it run again and it shows it wasn't shut down properly. What does that button do?

Great video. I use CentOS and Windows, both professionally and personally a lot. However, CentOS (being a RHEL variant) doesn't do as well as a desktop platform from what I understand from coworkers. This video shows a lot of features that are great to be aware of, how to use and etcetera. It helped that you spoke with confidence, loudly and clearly for people to understand you too. Are there any video games for Ubuntu being written?

thanks for this clear presentation. Very helpful for nubes. Can I suggest a basic orientation to open source pros and cons, specific to Linux. for example, pros like free as in speech, better security, many installation and boot options, a whole world of software, etc. Cons, challenges with DRM, software compatability (ie, Office), strange file system, dependence on terminal for some tasks, etc.

I just started using ubuntu today and It is way faster than when I used windows. I was afraid of using ubuntu at first because I needed microsoft office for some school projects but it also offered that. The ubuntu software makes the download of the apps way easier than some other linux distros and I personaly find it way more useful than the windows 10 app store.

I'm reviving an almost 10 yr old laptop that was shelved after a hard drive failure (I'm lazy) and a friend suggested Ubuntu when I asked if I was screwed regarding windows and the age of my machine. I just want to use it again for basic stuff, documents and video editing... This looks like good alternative and I'm looking fwd to using it.

People who usually love Linux are the more advanced computer geeks. They can fix and find solutions and like solving the hardware issues. For Most users who use a variety of different hardware , Linux will always prove to be troublesome due to poor hardware driver support.
