zoomplayerfree (there is also a non free version sochoose free version) has variabele zoom / mediaplayer gom player is also sometimes good with tricky extention video files playback but tries to push itself to be the mainplayer for extentions so you might have to reset prefered player for x extention its not to much trouble serviio free server lets you add pc drive to its library together with passkey light free (you need paskey free to get to the final files on disc( let paskey scan disc) (paskeyfree is independed thing from dvdfabsite)give serviio some time to see files on disc can be little slow after inserting a new disc in pcdrive before it ads them to its library lets you stream vobs and mts files on disc to your blu ray player (if that has network wifi)you can pick those pcdrive files fromin blu ray player sony music center for pc is easy and good mediaplayer +server audio stuff only would have liked mp4 playback buts its audio only lets you stream your audio or playlistsaudio to your blurayplayer that has network wifi and program has DSEE HX plus wasapi audio playback

Have just switched to Libre but also occasionally use Open Office. Microsoft Office was installed on my PC but since finding OO and Libre, I've deleted it. Total waste of money these days. Of the two options relevant to this upload, I find Libre Writer much easier with only a couple of functions which aren't quite as intuitive. (eg: in Open Office you can easily drag upper, lower and side margins to adjust the text area for a document. In Libre you seem to have to do with by adjusting them manually using Edit / Page / Margins. Slightly more cumbersome, but no great problem. You can also download the full Libre manuals in 3 forms and/or you can download individual chapters. All-in-all, Libre is proving the best option for me. You can also save in ..doc, .docx or rtf formats by default.

AnVir task manager gives you a lot of info on what is going on with computer processes with the option to delete or quarantine Belarc Advisers a snapshot on just about everything to do with what is on your system. Both of these are free with the option upgrade but in the long run-you will not need to do that(most likely). This one you can use for a time and then ask for an extension for 60 or 90 days(not sure of the number). Eventually you will have to pony up to buy a full version. The program name is Directory OPus-a really good replacement for File Explorer. I paid the money-no regrets on that one.

Thanks for the Libre Office tip. Our old 2007 Microsoft Word has to go through a 2-minute load on our Windows 10 machine EACH and every time we open it. As a result, we just leave Microsoft Word open and collapsed in the background. Microsoft wants a kidney & 1st born for the latest incarnation of Word, PLUS you get a nice monthly subscription fee to go with it! That's right -- no one time purchase. Just an ongoing monthly extortion payment for it. Your Libre suggestion is a Godsend. Free, works great, barely a learning curve, and works with all my old saved documents. THANKS, PAL!

I have/use almost all of these on a regular basis. Am alternative to ShareX is LightShot. Simple and has a few options. Not as many as ShareX, though. Am alternative, or companion, to OBS is FFSplit. For a powerful DJ program, Mixxx is one to start with before getting involved with Rekordbox or Serato. BootCD is GREAT piece of software. You burn the image to a disc or thumb drive and let your computer load it instead of your regular OS. It will give you drive testing and diagnostics, same for memory, BIOS and a ton of info about your computer. It gets updates on a regular basis.

Opentoonz is a professional 2D cartoon animation program. It was used by studio Ghibli to make animated movies like spirited away. Krita 4 is a great alternative to photoshop and illustrator and it also does 2D animation. Inkscape is a great alternative to Adobe illustrator. It even has vector Trace which will convert a raster graphic into a vector graphic. SketchUp is not open source but it is free and it is a great and easy-to-use 3D modeling program. It does not do organic shapes very well, for that you could use Sculptris which is also not open source but free.

Filezilla I can build a website, and update it myself. I started by looking at Source in webpage design I like. I looked at quite a few. If HTML, I copied and made changes to suit myself. ..making changes, I learned how to edit and update the webpage. I could view the changes offline in my browser, and later, I started viewing the pages in every common browser. Next, I inquired about hosts that were inexpensive and had no ads. ..and used Filezilla. I uploaded my website, and I maintain it myself: edits, updates, broken links. Filezilla

True, VLC may be ad free and not loaded with any spyware. However, in this day and time we have to worry about programmers and our government collecting the metadata from this program...along with other programs and apps we use to this day. If you use this on a device such as a phone, I dare you to go into your android folder and find the video.vlc.org folder and go to the cache folder. There you will find screenshots of all videos you watched in the past. And how does windows save with shadow copies on your system? With screenshots....hmmmm.....
