Everyone looks forward to getting their workout started, but sometimes this comes at the expense of skipping the proper warm up. If you want to know how to warmup, then this is the video to watch. Now, it's important to understand that not all warmups are the same. There are the total body warmups that involve raising your core body temperature through things like jump rope, light jogging, and even shadow boxing. Then there are warmups like we are talking about here in this video, the mobility warm ups. In this particular drill, you'll see how to mobilize your thoracic spine and encourage more spinal extension. From the daily habits we've developed to just plain old poor posture, many of us are finding that our ability to extend through our spine is becoming more and more limited each day. The problem with this is that it has far bigger impact than you might think on your workouts and performance as an athlete. Limited thoracic mobility (particularly into extension) prevents normal shoulder biomechanics and spinal rotation. Using the foam roller warm up drill I show you in this video, you can loosen this area up before your workout or game and make sure that you optimize the strength and power of your upper body. Don't have any equipment? No problem. You can use the alternate warm up drill that I show you here to mobilize the thoracic spine and include the all important element of rotation as well. So whenever someone asks you how to warmup, make sure you ask them what type of warmup they are talking about. Then, be sure to share with them this killer move to help them regain flexibility and strength they may have lost by overlooking this key factor in workout preparation. Anand: Hey Jeff this video was very helpful. I was wondering if you could make a video on lower body strength for soccer players and help them improve their shooting power, well. if its not too much to ask for. Thank you

Excellent Information! I hope you would consider more along these lines. For instance, if you have tension/trigger points in the pelvic floor and/or lower back (e. g Psoas, Abs, Abductors, QL, IT, etc) which MANY do - it would be nice to input on not only how to address, but also when and when not to train these areas of tension. Also the upper back, scalenes, pecs, etc as well as your overall opinion of trigger points, etc. And finally, the addressing entire lateral chain throughout the body.

I have a pretty good sound system and it's set at normal listening and than the intro kicks in and it's so much louder I can feel the sub woofer starting to shake things. Like being hit with a wall of sound. It's gonna take one second for Jeff to fix this too. Just lower volume to the intro and click save. Every time he adds it to more videos it will already be lower.

What's your opinion of bridging? I've done a -wrestler's bridge- at times that takes you all the way over to where your nose touches the ground and its a definite spine stretching/lengthening experience. Just wondering if there's a downside. I've also incorporated gymnastics bridges and felt they were beneficial too. Thanks.

Jeff- this was a great and timely video. I am a big guy 6'2' 265lbs that is working to carve out the athlete hidden inside. I am down 10 lbs since I started your program just a week ago. I have found that when I do thoracic extension warm ups I can lift more and in better form. Thanks again - Ted (in Abu Dhabi.

its really not that much louder. if its the consistency thats bothering you thats obviously your problem, otherwise if you turn down the volume to everything you listen to, your ears wont be desensitized by something as trivial as this

Hi Jeff, Could you please make a video on how we can cut down the skin fat. Sometimes from the places where we can not directly target e. g. in between the place of chest and latices or some other stubborn places of body.
