This video I find interesting because moving to Japan I switch to a high carb eating style and have gained 15 pounds really fast in just over a month. I have made an appointment with my doctor to make sure it's not something more serious. I usually ride up and down the 160's LBS but as of yesterday, I'm 183. I'm only 5'9 small frame. Never have weighted this much my whole life. I weight train 5 - 6 days a week. I have progressed pretty quickly with strength and some muscle mass. weight training is not new for me so I know its not a beginner response. I was unaware that there is such a thing as carb sensitivity and will have to take a closer look at that. I'm not at all upset with the weight gain it's just the rate that worries me because usually going to fast in either direction means something negative is occurring. Before assuming other factors of junk food or drinks. I don't drink anything except coffee, tea, and water. I rarely ever have junk food maybe once or twice a month if that and even then it may only be small icecream or something along the lines of that. I don't have a junk food trigger and I don't by foods like that to have around the house. If I feel like snacking ill cut a piece of pepper and dip a little hummus or maybe a banana with some peanut butter. If I had to make a guess at what's going on I would say It may be a combination of getting back into the gym after 5 months regrowing some lost tissue, new diet response with much more carbs and fish, and possibly my age 36 maybe my system is slowing down a bit. But still, that much weight in that small time frame seems a little unrealistic. And just one thing to add the scale was accurate. I didn't believe the scale at first and had a few friends look at there weight and they were their normal weights. I also went to two other scales that gave me the same weight which was also calibrated by the military physical fitness standers. Does anybody have other experiences or ideas while I wait for my doctor's appointment?

Great video with the right message, lots of wrong info though. The body actually pees excess protein with the urine. Protein and sugar cant be convert to fat usually. Sugar can be converted to fat ( its very rare and its called de novo lipogenesis. High carb diet is a low fat diet. No oils, peanuts, nuts and seeds are recommended while eating this way. To lose fat you need to eat less than your bmr. Thats the law of energy preservation. On a high carb diet with no oil you cant gain fat. You still need to eat less than your bmr to burn fat. This diet is fun and tasty. After a few months its possible to lose a lot of fat in a natural way, because many days you eat less than your bmr, because you dont feel as hungry as on other diets. High carb diet also pushes your metabolism to the roof, so you burn more fat naturally, because you need more calories. Great diet. Was invented by Dr. John Mcdougall

Studies show that it is pretty much impossible to store protein as body fat. You body can technically store excess protein as fat, but this just doesn't happen. Your body uses proteins to grow Hair, skin, nails and to grow new cells all over the body.
I have been saying this forever, fat and carbohydrates are what matter. Protein doesn't put a link in fat gain. You just can't have high fat and high fat at the same time. You can do High fat OR High carbs.
If you have high fat, then your body will be low on the energy it normally would get from carbs and starts feeding on itself while also stop storing fat. If you have high carb low fat, then your body will use the carbs for energy and really won't have excess unless you are also consuming fat.

Years ago I experimented with just fruit, eating as much as I possible could and I lost 5 kilo, I did add rice and pasta at night. But it was hard to eat out with friends and cook meals at home with family. I have tried so many diets. Currently doing a keto type diet with a very low calorie deficit and I haven't lost a single pound in 2 months, my brother has done the same and he has lost what looks like all his body fat. I might give this a go stating from tomorrow. I'll check back in, in a month with results.

When it comes to eating healthy, you must never fall victim to modern day fad diet plans. Extreme diets undoubtedly are a risk for your health, especially ones that seriously limit your daily nutritionary intake. While they might generate rapid loss of weight, these kinds of diets are never a long-term answer for your weight problem. You should search Okibetonic Secrets on google since it is not just another fad diet where you starve yourself.

My over 15 years of bodybuilding i have found out that carbs are just as important to build and keep muscle as protein is. I know the industry sells protein so thats what gets pushed to be the most important thing, but i have found that a lower. 6-. 8 grams per lb of lean bf) and around 50-60% of carbs as the best. Everyone is different of course n make sure theyre healthy nutritious carbs. Sweet potatoes, veggies, fruits, oatmeal, etc.

I Am very active but, I cant work out in a gym or walk for a mile or two, too much arthritis, so how would all these carbs work for me? I am not fat, 5ft 5 inches, 118, I want to get to 110. Ive cut back on carbs but, I miss my oatmeal, bananas, Ezekiel tst etc, I am afraid that I will gain now if I add the starch, Btw, great video as always, thankyou!

There's no foods in nature that are made of carbs and fat. So the key is not mixing these 2. That's why keto works and high carbs does as well. What causes issues like obesity is the consume of foods that are made of fats and carb (ice cream, cake, pastry, pizza, cookies, French fries etc. BTW I would opt more for organic and gluten free carbs

Ive listened to his vids on low carb diets and was confused because of this vid. But now it is refreshing to here him be more objective on diet and approach to being leaner. I plan to eat less meats and have most of my food come from produce and some other forms of healthy low fat carbs.

When I stray away from my macro nutrition plan, Im only eating carbs. Waffles, cereal, jasmine rice(with sweet Thai chili sauce. Fat burns right off me when I shift to it and its wild. I also feel more full/dense in areas that had more recently been worked out.
