Ouch I feel sorry for your lumbar spine discs watching that weighted decline crunches. Physiotherapists nowadays very much recommend NOT to do crunches because of the extreme pressures & shearing forces they create on lumbar discs.

Not many people know that abs consist of many type 2 muscle fibers and so it responds best to explosive and heavy resistance training, but also don't neglect endurance based exercises for the best of both worlds lol

regarding decline sit up, would the hip flexors engage too much? it seems they do for me or maybe my abs are just not strong enough yet?
