On the eating thing, if you like to do workouts in the morning before work but don't like actually eating a meal beforehand would it be fine adding in some sort of pre-work out/protein powder to get that extra oomph?

I do 2 different rep ranges for each muscle group in a workout. I usually mix high and medium ranges due to age. For example, I'll do 4 supersets of 15-20 dumbbell flys with 8-10 reps of dumbbell presses.
