A Pro Bodybuilder's Mindset E1see: I think your and your perspective message is very poignant and insightful. I particularly like the the idea of cultivating self-acceptance of how one feels and then trying to make the best of that situation. I think that at times we hold ourselves to self-imposed standards that are almost arbitrary and this creates unnecessary pressure. There are so many things we can't control but one thing we have influence over is our mindset and reaction to situations. Thank you for reminding me of that.

All this talk about steroids is nonsense. I have been around natural bodybuilders and alot of guys on the juice and Jeffs physique is absolutely possible to achieve without steroids. I trained with somebody today who has been gyming for 10 years and has never touched the juice in his life and looks a lot bigger and leaner than Jeff even. Only little shitcunts who don't even train properly would claim Jeff is on the roids to make then feel better about their own lack of gains.

I love your videos I've followed Robin for a while now but shouldn't have taken so long to follow you. This video reminds me of something I read in a popular woo-woo book called The Four Agreements; I didn't care for the book much but the agreements themselves are great. One of them is to always do your best, but to recognize that your best varies from moment to moment. I've applied this to working out and it helps a lot

Wow. 3 years old, first time seeing this, and still fully relatable. This speaks volumes. Especially when u mention being able bodied and being thankful. Ive never thought of it like that. That helps a lot and helps put a smile on my face. GREAT message and GREAT video Jeff.

05: 42 - The feeling of becoming derailed? Jeff, this happens to us all at some point. We all feel paranoid that a bad workout is the beginning of the end We get over it, move on, and then get paranoid again on the next bad workout. Great video bud.

I'm the opposite. If I'm not doing something I was able to do the day before or something, I think to myself hmmm maybe I'm not as strong as I thought to increase the weight. So I go back down a 2. 5lb so I can do the actual rep. If that made any sense

Excellent topic that's often overlooked. I feel so many of us have been taught to force that increased excitement through sports etc. I have found in my own training that if I force this excitement or train angry I tend to injury myself.

Relate to this a lot. Every day is up and down and presents different challenges even if you on the same diet, training routine work during the day and rest/sleep. In the end its down to a strong mindset and adjusting accordingly.

I can relate, especially while dieting. I always feel like I've derailed and that I'm sandbagging the workouts in a sense, even though I really am still giving it my all.

I'm just wondering what music you listen to for these heavy lifting sessions. Slipknot? Cannibal Corpse? Gotta be something intense for them heavy squats lol
