How to Perform the Deadlift for Growth (5 Mistakes Youre Probably Making) 0zinthi: Looking at this from a functional point of view, it does not make sense to straighten your back during deadlift. Think of your erector spinae muscles as the bicep. The bicep is strongest during 90 degree angle, same goes for the erector spinae. It is pure physiology.
Looking at Eddie Hall during 500 kg deadlift, he does a functional lift with an almost 90 (rounded) degree angle of erector spinae, and glutes.

I searched this video because Im hurting. This is the second time I pull my back while learning this exercise. Can I do these without any weight on the barbell? I started with 5lbs on each side then when I moved to 10lbs on each side I ended up hurting my back. I thought the weights were supposed to touch the ground, however I think I need to not have any weights until I get the form right.

I knew I was squatting the weight when I first started (there was no pad just concrete and I didnt want to damage equipment or concrete) so i adapted my form when I would lift on like a platform BUT I was still squatting (i thought on video it looked fine but apparently not) and now im even more confused on what my form is meant to be lmaooo

Maybe I'm just being a baby but I know my form suffers because I try to avoid scraping my shins and kneecaps on the bar, mostly on the way down. I end up with the bar too far from my body. What can I say, I hate walking away from the deadlift with my shins all bloodied from the sharp knurling on the bar.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. John 3: 16-17

This has helped me a crazy amount thank u for the very informative video I was having trouble getting back into weight training after a really bad car accident and this deadlifting video helped me increase my weight and reps by 4x

Glad I recorded my form today. I couldnt figure out for the life of me how to figure out why my form looked off and my lower back was hurting. Of course Jeremy had a video telling me exactly what I was doing wrong.

I watched this just before my legday. I've always wanted to do deadlift but it hurted so badly so before breaking anything in my body I stopped. I'm going to try it again

One thing I haven't been able to get right is my breathing. By the end of the 3rd set I'm always on the verge of passing out.
