Why You Can't Bench Press 225 for Reps
video description
Get under whatever weight you hate doing for 5 reps. Do 3 sets of this; even if set 2 is only 3 reps, and set 3 is only 1 rep. Continue this until you can hit 8 reps x3 sets, and then move up 20 pounds in bench weight. Repeat this process, and you will gain power; which will, in turn, increase your bench. I used this method up to a 360 1 rep max, but ran into rotator cuff issues at 265 x8, so make sure to train those while heavy lifting on the bench.

I was stuck on a 300lb bench press for years until i started squating and deadlifting and using the bench press calculator. That allowed me to get massive gains. I was able to do 255 16 times and 225 18 times. Prior to that 255 i could only do like 6 times and 225 like 11 times.

I'm at a plateau right now at 265. Im only 15 and I bought into that -if you dont toss 405 like nothing, your weak- i used it as motivation to get better. I'm hoping for 405 before I graduate high school. Its gonna be extremely hard but I'm gonna work hard to get there.

I'm 15 years old 195 pounds
Bench 225 for 5 (265 for 1)
Squat 315 for 2 (335 for 1)
Deadlift 405 max
I'm trying to hit a 315 benchpress 405 squat and 455 deadlift by the end of this school year. Hopefully at 198 bodyweight.

It depends on your genetic makeup i maxed out at 175 2 months ago for bench now im hitting 225 for 7 reps. Some people can do much kore in a year and some much less. All in Ll just not a good claim to make

Widespread steroids use have skewed people's perception of what to expect in the gym. People who bench 315 after 1 year of going to the gym are almost always taking something.

Sir
If your gym has the laying bench press machine without the bar you can actually get stronger with that a lot safer. It-s like a hybrid between the barbell and dumbbells

I been training for more than 20 years. Working out is only 60%. Your diet & rest the biggest contributor to strength gains.
