Do You Have to Squat to Build Big Legs? Spencer: My spine is a little crooked from an injury I had when I was a kid, and I experience low back pain when I do heavy barbell back squats. This is why I use the hex bar for deadlifts instead of performing the conventional barbell deadlift. My question is what alternative exercises to the barbell back squat will give me the most bang for my buck when it comes to building muscle mass? (Also, I don't have access to a leg press machine)

When it comes to building muscular legs, the truth is that it can be done without ever performing a squat. In fact, there-s no reason that you can-t maximize leg hypertrophy without this seemingly critical exercise. With that said, however, if we want to kill the most birds with the least stones, squatting is definitely the way to go.

I had surgery on both of legs, which prevents me from squatting properly. The best substitutes I can perform right now are Zercher squats against a wall, hack squat machine, and smith machine lunges. Do you happen to have any additional exercises that you think may help me?

I personally kind of hate squats, for some reason it feels to uncomfortable, and it's true that is a bit overrated exercise, however is still good to throw them in a workout plan, as long as the form is right. Greetings Alain, great content man!

Sir, how can I increase my abdominal size without getting a big tummy.
I am too much thin there. Is there any exercise to increase its width?
And please make a video about Compound Exercise and how to perform them.
Thanks

Im thinking of replacing squats with the barbell Hack Squat, because since ive been squatting my ass has been growing way to fast compared to my quads and hamstrings lol.
Do you think this is a good idea?
